Are you willing to pay the price?
All of us have notions of how all this works but none have proof.

We base our beliefs on:

----Culture:
Whether you conform or rebel against your culture it is still a creative force in your belief system.

----Lore:
Lore is the “Physics” of why a faith works and is an attempt to organize abstract concepts into a format that gives life meaning.

----Familiarity:
Familiar things give us comfort whether the thing itself is good or bad. The devil we know is better than the devil we don’t know.

----Emotion:
We all know the impact of emotions on our faith.

Obviously the “Truth” is not encapsulated in any one believer or in any one religion. If it were they could answer our questions and all other religions would vanish shortly after. People from all lands have experienced moments of “Truth” usually causing big changes in themselves if not in their culture.

I've heard ppl say that, because of all the logical, scientifical facts of the world, God doesn't exist. WTF? That doesn't make any sense at all!!!! God created this world, and He created it the way it is. The systems of our bodies, like respiratory, circulatory, etc., work so well together because God made it that way. This universe of ours is NOT an accident, but a well-designed plan of a powerful being.

The world isn't perfect, I know, but that's kinda our fault--we sinned, and we keep sinning, and so there are bad things in the world. God offers us a way to a better life--by believing in Him, and trusting that He will guide you.

My definition of science:
Our way of explaining God's wonderful world.

And He's coming back!!!!

Since I basically believe in a higher power/energy (mainly the power of physics that keeps it all moving). I could ALMOST believe in the bible, but it seems too far fetched. I see more fact in evolution.
I love people and life and all things involved.
I went to a christian church for about 1 year with my wife (who is a christian, and gave it all I could, it just wasn't my thing.
Is there a demoniation that covers this besides New Age or Scientology?

Do you think that we should elect leaders in this way? This is some history of how the Muslims elected people to run the land. Do you like this?

"Offices in the Islamic states were given to those who were best qualified, regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds. For example, Ibn Athal, a Christian physician, was the private doctor of the caliph Muawya, the founder of the Umayyad state. Another Umayyad caliph, Abdul-Malik Ibn Marwan, appointed two Christians, Athnasius and Isaac, to top positions in the state of Egypt. Adud Al-Dawla, an Abbassid caliph, made Nasr Ibn Haroun, a Christian, his prime-minister, giving him authority to rule over Iraq and southern Persia."

Do you think refunding that tax was right because, as the tax is used for protecting nonmuslims, the people had failed? What is your opinion on this?

"The Jizya, a tax collected from non-Muslims in Islamic territories in return for military protection and other benefits provided by the state, has also been the subject of misunderstanding. When the Muslims discovered that they had withdrawn from the city of Homs and could no longer protect the people there as they had promised, they paid the Jizya back to them. Muslims themselves actually paid a tax called Zakat which was several times more than the Jizya."

Those that claim that your founding fathers were religious, you are very mistaken and do not even know your own history.
Your founding fathers were deists, not Christians.
Many of your Religious Right activists have attempted to rewrite history by asserting that the United States government derived from Christian foundations, that your Founding Fathers originally aimed for a Christian nation. This idea simply does not hold to the historical evidence.

Of course many Americans did practice Christianity, but so also did many believe in deistic philosophy. Indeed, most of your influential Founding Fathers, although they respected the rights of other religionists, held to deism and Freemasonry tenets rather than to Christianity.

IN ANY CASE , WHY ARE YOU SO RELIGIOUS?
Why do you give more importance to the Bible than science or history?

They are both cult leaders. Yes the FLDS split from LDS... or wait, is it the other way around? Did the LDS split to try to become more mainstream? FLDS actually live the religion the way it was originally 'dictated' by Joseph Smith, and the book of Mormon, and the D&C. Makes you wanna go HMMMM

It is possible for you to become a Jehovah's Witness—or a Mormon, or for that matter, a member of any other group that claims to be God's one and only true religion—is it possible if the only book you ever read in your life was the Bible?

Just to tell us the Bible is not true. Not only that, then atheists go into detail on which parts of the Bible are false. Do you really think Christians are going to listen to your BS and say yea" Sparky" you got me convinced.
Misery loves company.

What if you're wrong about your beliefs?
Let's just play pretend here, and play along with me.
Christians, if you died, and had found yourself reborn, or standing infront of Allah, or boogie-dancing with James Brown, what would you do?
Anyone else want to take a stab at that idea?

I'm about to get baptized, I'm 17, and I'm wondering if you'res supposed to be a "goody goody" after it, isn't it human nature to sin, and that's why you ask for salvation because you know only Christ can forgive your sins?

do you agree that those people who complain "WHY ISN'T GOD HELPING THE STARVING CHILDREN AND THE POOR?" are the ones who are sitting on their bums and not going out into poor nations to help?

i have nonchristian friends who go out into thiese nations to help, and i do not see them complaining why God is so "cruel" and "evil".

I do go out into poor nations to help the poor too.

so i totally feel that those who complain why God isn't helping are the ones who are not doing anything...........AT ALL.

agreed?

As a faithful Jehovah's Witness, achtung_heiss is great at giving answers as direct quotes from the official Watchtower website. But will he ever engage in direct conversation with someone who is critical of his religion?
