They are both cult leaders. Yes the FLDS split from LDS... or wait, is it the other way around? Did the LDS split to try to become more mainstream? FLDS actually live the religion the way it was originally 'dictated' by Joseph Smith, and the book of Mormon, and the D&C. Makes you wanna go HMMMM

Joseph Smith NEVER NEVER taught that men should try to get as many women as they could, marry all theh little girls they could, and chase away the young men to cut back on the competition. Joseph Smith taughth SELF reliance, not being dependant on the government to support the family.

Nobody can prove to you that Joseph Smith is a prophet. They way to find the truth is to ask God in prayer. The strongest evidence you can hope for that Joseph Smith is a prophet is personal revelation from the Holy Ghost.
