Because they could legislate laws of discrimination that are tougher than the current ones. You could be jailed for saying the "M" word as an invective and hateful declaration.

Just give it time. The internet has made it so easy for those who are slightly curious to find out what the church represses. Soon another Martin Luther will come along and post a list of "Dumbass Errors of Doctrine" on the temple doors, and the new Reformation will begin.

Anyway... why the Mormons? Why not the Jehovah's witnesses... or the Muslims, or the Scientologists, or the Baptists? Or the Jews? Or the Wiccans?

I'm not too worried, when the end comes, the mark of the beast will be on the bequiled, and if the LDS are a cult, they can easily be bequiled and led astray, I am just worried about my own family members still caught up in the mess.

Why? just because someone has a different religion doesn't mean we have to speak out against them. We can try to change their minds but if they don't want to, we can't force them.
