I am a Christian who belongs to an Interdenominational Church, which can be described as none other than Pentecostal. We have the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues.
I do understand that there are other signs of having the Holy Spirit besides speaking in tongues but for me it is such a wonderful experience I would not want to have it any other way. Maybe I'm weak in faith, but to me speaking in tongues shows me for sure for sure that God is real because He manifests Himself in me physically. I know without a shadow of a doubt that I'm not shaking my body or moving my tongue. I know that God is in me and I have His Spirit to lead me. : )

I am Apostolic too so I am sure your idea of a Pentecostal Christian is the same as mine!! I love Pentecostals, that is why I am one. I attend First Apostolic Church in Morganton, NC.

I think Pentecostal Christians are similar to other denominations, except they place a greater emphasis on speaking in tongues as evidence of having received the Holy Spirit.
What do I think? I don't mind at all. Pentecostals are good people. I mind though, when speaking is tongues is "required" as evidence of having the Spirit when the scripture speaks of numerous other gifts of the Spirit that prove the infilling. I think some denominations go wrong when they start to think they are more special than anyone else to God. God doesn't play favorites with anybody. And he gives whatever gifts he chooses to whomever he wants.

Im Apostolic, we are alot like Pentecostals, we believe everything they do but we don't speak in tongues everytime we lay hands. Pentecostals are cool, im currently attending.
We believe in recieving the holy spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues. Their are alot of false assumptions about us though.

They are simply very sincere people who are seeking a more direct connection to God... rather than depending on an institution like a church to be an intermediary for them.
I think the general idea of a direct connection is a good one, but I don't know how successful these groups have been.
I think they would be better served by simply moving back to the Original Kingdom Gospel... as explained in the free book below. It's a fun read. It's about making that direct connection work.

The Pentecostal style is not for me. I'm a Lutheran. Even so, I think they have a perfect right to worship in whatever way they choose. I wish, though, that the Pentecostals weren't such slaves to the idea that every single word in the Bible was dictated by God himself.
