as you can see a lot of people have different opinions on just about everything.
I'm just glad that my mother never had that option,
other wise you might not be reading this charming note.

This viewpoint is extreme; however, there are many people who *do* believe this.
Personally, I think the decision to use birth control is your own business, so long as the birth control method isn't administered *after* the egg has been fertilized. Many couples have legitimate reasons to decide not to have (more) children. And if they decide to use contraceptives for that, then OK. It's their business.
However, I am a lot less sympathetic when conception has already taken place. It doesn't matter what you say-- that's a living human child and the mother has no right to take its life. Especially not if she willingly had unprotected sex. Unfortunately, most abortions do occur because that was the case.
(FYI, the only instance in which I would condone abortion is if the mother's life was threatened, but cases like those are extremely rare.)

I don't know why everyone is so bent out of shape about birth control or abortion. It would seem to be obvious to the most casual of observers that preventing conception can be accomplished by not copulating or by preventing the sperm from reaching the egg. No sperm, no fertilization, no life. What could be simpler? Abortion? There is no reason to have an abortion except to save the mother's life. It is too easy to prevent the problem in the first place. Am I missing something here? I had a vasectomy after we had our kids and did not want any more. Thirty minutes in the doctor's office and that was it. Why me and not my wife? It was a serious operation for her. Hospital and all. That's nuts. Why would I insist she be subjected to that? Well, I admit to not having a degree from some prestigious university and to relying on common sense a great deal, but I honestly don't understand why this is such a problem.

Those people have a very poor understanding how biology and medical science. An abortion only takes place when there actually is a pregnancy to be aborted. In fact the morning after pill and RU 486 which are often erroneously called the abortion pill are not that at all...they prevent pregnancy by not allowing for the egg to implant on the walls of the uterus. Pregnancy doesn't take place right at conception, it doesn't start until the egg attaches to the uterine wall. If it doesn't, there is no pregnancy...hence, no abortion.
No those people who you describe wrote that editorial are taking things too far. I think it's sick. It's another way to control the sexual and reproductive lives of other people and I find it disgusting. I think people need to mind their own sex and reproductive lives and keep their noses out of other people's. In other words, keep your religion out of my ba-jango.

No birth control is not akin to abortion.Birth control is the effort how to manage the sperms of a husband can not meet with egg cells of his wife..The tool for birth control such as condom, pill ,IUD and injection.By these tolls we will prevent the meeting od sperns and the egg cells or the egg cells will be delayed to its maturity. We can also use the birth control method by seeng the mature and immature period of the wife that is 10 days up to 2.weeks after the end of menstruation
up to the beginning of the second menstruation is a mature period. We should not have sex in the mature period or we have sex by using condom.
Abortion in line with islamic teaching is killing the blood, meat or fetus that has been met in the womb of a woman. This killing is prohibited by laws and regulations of certain country and aslo do not allow by God as stated in the holy Qur'an.But in Qur'an God stated that God blow soul/spirit to the fetus after 120 days in the womb.Preventing the meeting between sperms and egg cells is not a killing so it is allowed. It is a fee choice

Hello, Julia:
Most churches do not feel birth control is abortion; in fact, even the Catholics endorse the rhythmic method.
The real issue is how does God feel about it. Most people who seek abortion are making the unborn suffer for the sins of the parent(s). God designed that when a person is responsible enough to raise children, they marry and offer their children a stable family environment.
However, the innocent suffers, like Jesus did, and the guilty, like Barabbas, goes free. God gives examples of what to do when a man rapes a woman and she does not scream for help:
Deuteronomy 22:23 "If a damsel [that is] a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;
22:24 "Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, [being] in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you."
Pretty strong words, but you must understand that was only for Israel as a theocracy--not for our society today. But the New Testament is clear, "fornicators... will not inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Cor. 6:9).
When two people do not practice sexual restraint, and then are married, there is not the unflinching trust that they would have had if they remained virtuous until the honeymoon. Yes, God knows best and we would all be better living to His 10 commandments.
Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

most birth control isn't actually killing the baby, they prevent the egg from moving. but the pill- prevents the fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus, which is tecnacially(sp???) an abortion, but the others don't. my mom did a research paper on abortion and the alternatives and this is what many sites said about the pill

Very few people believe that preventing pregnancy from starting is equivalent to aborting a pregnancy. The Catholic church forbids artificial contraception in most cases but they don't equate prevention with abortion. Catholics commonly disregard the ban in any case. Many of them feel that it's not the pope's business to manage their families. The pope isn't going to feed their kids or change their diapers.

That's the most ridiculas thing I've ever heard!! Life(for this world) starts at conception. I am pro life and this is a steaming heap of rhino dung!!!! birth control is fine.Abortion is not. Abortion is killing something. Birth control is keeping from becoming pregnent.(unless it fails. Don't even try it before you're married girls!!!) But I completely disagree with that statment.

Birth control prevent life from existing. Abortion ends life from continuing. Birth control is stopping what should normally and naturally happen when people have sex. So, in their own ways there both wrong. .

I liken abortion to the equivalent of getting a present at Christmas, and then throwing it in the dumpster.
I liken contraceptives to forwarning the giftgiver that you dont want what you know theyre going to give you.
Children are a gift from God and I suppose if people dont want them, that represents an element of selfishness and faithlessness in their character, but certainly not murder. Murder pertains to a life that presently exists, and you terminated it.
There is a moral question that comes into being I know and Ive had this disagreement with my wife. I disagree with using contraceptives for selfish reasons because you are in essence denying life to the child you WOULDVE had which I believe fit what you were talking about. But again this isnt murder and heres why. Lets say you are fertile as heck, tons of faith, and you say "God im going to have as many kids as fate or you allow." Now that is faith taken to the fullest. But your friend says "Ick, I just cant mentally or financially handle more than X kids, so Im going to have X and then get my tubes tied."
So your faith and decision-making guided you to have 10 kids, and she only had 2. And lets say she looks back on that decision with regret later but cant have kids. Her faith or thereof put her in that position and that is basically all any of us can do in life is play our cards in hand with what faith we have at the time and what turns out was basically destiny if you will. So the 8 kids she mighta had were never going to be born anyway because of her lack of faith. Or perhaps she may have miscarried her 3rd and forced to have a hisdirectomy. Who knows. But we cant judge people for murder based on lives that dont exist.
