You explain the situation, apologize and you are still attacked by people. HEY, CAN YOU ALL GROW UP AND LET IT GO????
I am fed up with the petty crap here, especially by people who claim to share my faith! You don't *obviously* because you cannot be kind, patient, tolerant or even forgiving of YOUR OWN PEOPLE! What is wrong with you?
So, the question is... do you really practice as you preach? Cuz I don't think so!

Actually, this is not in regards to me, but to someone else entirely, but it infuriates me just the same.

Not really sure what your question is, or if it all of these?
If I vent and say something I will apologize, always. I do practice what I preach so to speak, but I do not preach to anyone.
You should not let the petty part of the answers on here get to you, it is an outlet for everyone, we are not running the world, a company, we are here to talk, voice our opinion, and yes, they may not agree with anyone, some, or a lot, but hey, it is OK.
Calm down and take a deep breath!

A lot of people do NOT practice what they preach any more. I TRY really hard, but fail time and again. I just don't think it is something that is possible in this world anymore. Unless you live in a convent or something, and even my priest tells me that the cloistered nuns that he takes confession from have their silly slip-ups (ie; I thought bad thoughts about Sister So-and-So).
If this is a church issue, try finding a new church. You know, it says in the bible that wherever two or more people gather to worship, is where church is (or something along those lines). Consider finding others who are tired of the hypocricy and start your own prayer group!
Good luck!

Well Terry, I am a Christian, but if I am attacked unduly in a forum, or anywhere for that matter, I will respond, and it might not always sound/seem pleasant, and I won't apologize.
Jesus Himself got angry... remember when the church was being used for gambling and he went in and turned the tables? He never apologized.
Christian doesn't = doormat. You have a right to be heard just as much as the next person. No need to be sorry for it. I am generally pleasant, but I can be firm and serious, and mean what I say... it just takes longer to make me snap. That doesn't take away from my relationship with God.

Not sure what is happening today ....
But did read some very bad personal attacks
Its very saddening to see Muslims do this.
Allah (swt) says (49:11):
"O you who believe! Let not a group scoff at another group; it may be that the latter are better than the former. Nor let (some) women scoff at other women; it may be the latter are better than the former . Nor defame one another, not insult one another by nicknames. How bad is it to insult one's brother after having Faith (i.e. to call your Muslim brother as : 'O sinner', or 'O wicked') And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed Zalimun (wrongdoers)."
May Allah grant us all Patience and Guidance.

some people are completely fake; they go completely against what they say. but that doesn't mean all people, of course. me, i usually practice what i preach. i mean, we're only human, we slip up sometimes, or make mistakes. you're right, some people need to just LET IT GO and be done with it. but thats easier said than done.

I preach what I practice! I forgive you and I don't know you and I doubt I ever will. So you are good in my eye until you do something to change that!

Listen, the Prophet Muhammed said " the first to enter hellfire are those scholars who preached to people not to do a sin they themselves do."
Forgiveness is a virtue, learn to forgive, and you will easily be forgiven.

*sigh*. I know exactly how you feel sister. Forgiveness is a part of Islam. The Prophet (PBUH) used to forgive the greatest of his enemies. I think we should forgive anyone who apologizes, and leave the rest to Allah. I become so sad to see Muslims attacking one another. We are all brothers and sisters in Islam. It's ok sister.. don't worry, just pray that everyone be guided. We are merely visitors in Allah's creation. Inshallah Allah guides this Ummah and we all are gathered in the throwns of paradise inshallah. Ameen
May Allah bless you and yours sister.
