I took a poll here to see how many Christians loved an unproven, unseen, unheard, untouched, unanything "god" more then their OWN kids. Remarkably..... almost ALL the Christian answers said they loved god more then their very own kids.

Is it disturbing that these people love something that may not even be there at all more then their own flesh..... and their own blood? Why do you think people of such complexity to turn on a computer are as ignorant to love an unproven, unseen god more then their own children??

Note this question is aimed at Atheists and/or agnostics who seem to be a little more rational. I dont want to hear your copy/pasted god spit ups from your little book. I want SINCERE answers and comments from rational thinking people.... thanks...

I'd like you to consider this...

Lets say the odds are so ridiculously high (say a 1 in 10^100 chance) that even the most ardent evolutionist would admit there simply wasn't enough time since the beginning of the universe for DNA to happen by chance.

Now what if I say that the code for DNA exists not just at the atomic level, but also withing the very fabric of the universe itself at the quantum level, and it has been progressively ordering itself not just for the period our universe has existed, but over billions of expansions and contraction periods (in other words, somewhere along the lines of the number one billion raised to the power of one billion.)

Is THAT enough time for the random factor to do it's job?

I say it's only within THIS most recent expansion that DNA finally came together completely, and was able to get life as we know it going.

Large numbers only seem to make things impossible.

Does this answer the "incredibly unlikely odds" argument?

... someone totally different from you, with his own background and history, friends and environment, a contemporary person. And yet I was that person. It was a deeply spiritual experience which arose more questions that I'm able to ask here. So my question is simply: has anyone here had a similar experience ? And any comments, theories, ideas will be most welcome.

Just kidding.. This one is really for the fuitcakes that believe in that question, and so I ask them..:

If christians evolved from jews, then why are there still jews..?

Whatever your answer, don't say "diversification", as you might accidently understand evolution, and we wouldn't want that now would we..?

They were uneducated and inexperienced. They had no knowledge of the outside world and no knowledge of good & evil until after they took the apple. They acted in accordance with the nature God gave them. Pinching the apple was their first act of disobedience. Would you throw your children to the wolves for a first offense?

Almighty God: At Isaiah 43:10 Almighty God says: “Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me.” Does this mean that, because Jesus Christ is prophetically called “Almighty God” at Isaiah 9:6, Jesus must be God? Again, the context answers, No! None of the idolatrous Gentile nations formed a god before Almighty God, because no one existed before Almighty God. Nor would they at a future time form any real, live god that was able to prophesy. (Isa. 46:9, 10) But that does not mean that Almighty God never caused to exist anyone who is properly referred to as a god. (Ps. 82:1, 6; John 1:1, NW) At Isaiah 10:21 Jehovah is referred to as “mighty God,” just as Jesus is in Isaiah 9:6; but only Jehovah is ever called “God Almighty.”—Gen. 17:1. If a certain title or descriptive phrase is found in more than one location in the Scriptures, it should never hastily be concluded that it must always refer to the same person. Such reasoning would lead to the conclusion that Nebuchadnezzar

Yes -- the common question among gay people that are religious. Do gay people go to hell? So, here is how I look at it.. I am gay, and a few years ago, I thought I was going to go to hell when I died, which scared me into not wanting to die (I still don't want to die in fear of this..), but I got to thinking. In the Bible, it says that homosexuality is a sin. But, did Jesus not die for our sins? So, if we asked, would we be forgiven for being gay and be able to go to Heaven? What is everyone's opinion on this? Everything is open! Thanks for reading!

I'm afraid everyday that I might die and go to hell even though I haven't done anything terribly wrong that I know of...other than sin. But how merciful is God? How do you know if you're going to heaven? Do you know anyone that you don't think is going? Thank YOU

real science?
During 1964 a threshold in my thinking was gradually crossed. Up to that year it had seemed to me that there was ample scientific evidence which demanded long ages. I imagined that such phenomena as C-14 decay, U-238 dating, the formation of coal, and the genesis of oil bore undeniable testimony to a vast prehistory for the earth. After crossing a mental “continental divide,” however, it became increasingly apparent to me that there is nothing in empirical science that compels anyone to embrace billions or even millions of years.

The U-238 method and other radiochemical “clocks” are based on unprovable assumptions, which in some instances have actually been falsified. There is no rock or any other object, for example, that says, “I am 40 million years old; use me as a calibration sample.”
C-14 dating has even led to truncating previous estimates for the elapsed time since the onset of the Ice Age. The disequilibrium between the measured rate of C-14 decay and the rate of its atmospheric production support an age of less than 10,000 years for the earth’s atmosphere. And so it goes. There is not even one scientific fact that furnishes an unequivocal demonstration of great antiquity. All the data find favorable alternative explanations within a recent creation position.

this what someone said about the bible:
"the only way to grasp the spirit of the words is if one has the Spirit of God revealing it to them ... crunching words and terminology will get a person exactly knowhere with the bible"

My question is, Do you mean that the Bible makes no sense or 0 sense to anyone who doesn't believe in Christianity?? Or it is God's fault that the bible makes no sense to non-Christians??

I have found a scripture in Proverbs 30:4 that I believe makes reference to God's son. It says, "Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Who has gathered up the wind in the hollow of his hands? Who has wrapped up the waters in his cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and the name of his son? Tell me if you know!"

I do not know how this scripture is interpreted by Jewish folk. If any Orothodox Jewish folks are out there and know this I would greatly appreciate any information! Always good to hear from them because they are very smart about Old Testament! I admire their vast knowledge and they have given me great insight on more than one topic! I am asking with great respect,so please no hateful answers! May the Lord bless you!
