"Why do so many of you idiotic atheists still believe in evolution, you must have evolved from monkeys, you're not human."

Can you name what's wrong with this response to an insult?

2) The insulter says they don't believe in evolution, and then accuses you of evolving.

The simplest thing wrong with this as an insult is that the insulter is using evolution, and denying it, in the same insult. That's bad form.

I recall a time when an idiot didn't like my comment to him, as he felt it wasn't polite enough. His response was "Use some tact, you fathead." Same concept. The term for this is hypocrisy.

Anyone who has to resort to throwing insults has already lost any debate.

The person who said that cannot reason and debate without hurling insults, and cannot simply accept people for who they are, and dogmatically insists that everyone define themselves by a very narrow set of standards that the person himself cannot live up to.

Christianity has only been around for about 2,000 years, the Old Testament (or Judaism) for maybe 4,000 years, tops. There are religious and spiritual practices that predate that. Humanity has been around for a heck of a lot longer and we have archaeological evidence to that effect.

I find it interesting that most so-called "christians" have not bothered to actually read and understand what Jesus actually taught and did. Jesus' thing was not about judgement and insulting people... He was all about seeing a person in their perfect form and leading them toward that perfection through love.
