No No No.. Missing the point here.

I could have sworn that someone said the earth was only 6000 years old.

After the Bikini Atoll nuclear experiments the only things that survived were cockroaches. Apparently they are very resistant to radiation.

I agree with whoever said how is it not? There were roaches when there were dinosaurs, and there will probably be roaches long after we as a race are gone. I mean, nothing kills the little bastards...if we were to be wiped out by a nuclear war they'd still be here because nuclear radiation doesn't affect them

And that being said, the earth has been here for about 5 billion years, so it's incredibly possible for roaches to have been here for 300 million

cockroaches are pretty good at the old survival and reproduction game. nature goes with what works, it's not like it can do otherwise. that said, i wouldn't be so sure they've been totally unchanged in all that time.

edit: oh well you see the cockroaches all outran the "primitive" vertebrates to high ground during the flood. that's why you don't see any cockroaches below the strata that scientists have defined, by fiat you know, to be "300 million years old". makes sense yeah? those wee blighters move pretty quick for their size...

Insects came onto land and the design was successful enough to persist. No living species of cockroach goes all the way back. The basic "chassis" structure has been preserved, but innumerable smaller changes have taken place over time.

Have they found a 300 Million year old Cockroach?

think about how long 1 million years is - then multiply that thought by 300 - the earth is NOT 300 million years old - ridiculous - some people can be so dense, and believe whatever their public school teachers tell them

Why not the Earth is much older than that.

They are perfectly adapted to their environments....and have been for quite a while. Evolution reached perfection (a long time ago), then stopped.

earth is 4.5 + billion years old...

Now, as for the Roaches, they, unlike humans, haven't invented ways to destroy their civilization... destructive things like religion, politics, bombs, guns, toasters... yeah.
