Yes -- the common question among gay people that are religious. Do gay people go to hell? So, here is how I look at it.. I am gay, and a few years ago, I thought I was going to go to hell when I died, which scared me into not wanting to die (I still don't want to die in fear of this..), but I got to thinking. In the Bible, it says that homosexuality is a sin. But, did Jesus not die for our sins? So, if we asked, would we be forgiven for being gay and be able to go to Heaven? What is everyone's opinion on this? Everything is open! Thanks for reading!

If you have been forgiven of your sexual immorality, but then RETURN to it, you're lost! The Apostle Paul said that we are ALL APT (liable) to sin! It doesn't matter if you've been serving God 5 minutes or 50 years! If you backslide on Him and die in that state, you'll most likely end up in Hell. Forgiveness is not the only issue; it's living an OBEDIENT life after accepting God and following the plan of salvation outlined in Acts 2 and other places. You CANNOT "repent with a GODLY SORROW" as the Scripture implies you must, then go right back to being homosexual! The Bible compares backsliding into sin to a "dog turning back to it's own vomit!" Gross, isn't it? But that's what sin does to a person, so this is why God demands a commitment from us to do more than just use His willingness to forgive as a crutch when we need self-justification for our lifestyles, interpretations of the Word, and etc.

The answer is the same for anybody, homosexual or otherwise, if a person is not saved, (accepted JESUS CHRIST as their personal Savior), then yes, that person, whatever they are, whoever they are, will go to Hell!!
And yes, homosexuality is a sin, and yes, JESUS did die for our sins, and yes, if you ask to be forgiven, he will forgive you, and if you are saved, you will go to heaven!
But homosexuality in GOD'S eyes, is no different than any other sin, so when we ask for forgiveness, (and we should, for any sin we commit), we should be sincere, knowing we have sinned, and not only ask GOD to forgive us, but also, ask him to help us conquer this thing (whatever it may be.) that we know is a sin, and help us get set free from it!!

Ok when U asked God to forgive U of this sin did U repent?..Repent means to change. Some people change overnight, others, years. Paul mentioned in (1 Corithians 3:1) saint's being "babes in Christ"Their great sin and backslidings were found in their babyhood. Not that begin as babes, but stayed as babes.Baby Christianity is the popular Christianity of these days. To begin as babes is expected, but to remain babes for 40 years is a fearful deformity.
Spiritual stagnation sometimes happens to those in the high echelons of spirtual promninece. It is true that a few of those who recieved a great spirtual baptism after conversion have crystallized around this later point of advance. However,a far greater number of preachers and other believers have crystalilized a round the intial experience of salvation. there may be some specimens of Christian mummies who were petrified in the dwarfed and cradle state is countless.

So,if U change to a straight status eventually, then you will not go to Hell, because Christ did save U,and it was not in vain.

Because of Adam and Eve's disobedience, we all inherited the sin nature. We are all sinners. Any of us can be homosexuals, murders, fornicators, thieves, adulterers, gossipers, addicts, gluttons or liars. Probably even more than one of those. We all possess this sin nature, which causes us all to be born separated from God and do the things that He has told us not to do..

Jesus came to the earth for the purpose of becoming the blood sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. Those of us who will choose Him as our Lord and Savior and repent (which means to turn away from sin), will be given the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life with God. When we choose Jesus, God declares us blameless. This is called justification (just as if I’d never sinned) .

God doesn't want anyone to be lost. He loves us so much even though we are born sinners. He has provided Jesus’ sacrifice for us while we are still sinners.

Not choosing Jesus is the only way that we remain separated from God. After choosing Jesus as our Lord and Savior, It is then, our job to stay filled with the Holy Spirit that He has given to Christians (those who have accepted Jesus) for the help we need to obey Him.

God sanctifies us which means He makes us holy. Sanctification is living every day in light of who we are in Christ. It is practiced purity- a challenge, not always easy especially in the culture in which we live.

Prayer, submitting and obedience is what God has ask us to do for our benefit.

It is so hard when we are living in a particular sinful condition but, turning our backs on sin and coming to Jesus for love, leadership and forgiveness is the way to have a better life here, a renewed relationship with God and the promise of Heaven. The only way. May God bless you. He loves you.

ok- remember you asked. When you asked for forgiveness, have you continued to sin? What I mean is this- I am a Christian, that has been forgiven sins, no homosexuality is not one of the sins that I am forgiven for, however there are others. Now if I continue in my sin, and then keep wanting God to forgive, that makes Jesus' dying on the cross- cheap grace- and no it is not cheap- it cost Him His life. I am not saying that I am sinless- but I am saying we must repent and turn from the sin that Jesus died on the cross to SAVE US FROM. We are saved from sin, no matter the sin, not saved to sin. Does that help?

the Bible says that we are to ask for forgiveness of our sin , but it all so says that we are to repent of our sins all so . ( repent : to turn away from ) if we are not willing to at least try to stop committing the same sin over and over to where living that sin is our life style, then how can we truly be sorry for the sin to the point that we truly want to be forgiven. Jesus tell us that we must deny ourselves take up our cross and follow Him .

Its like asking "Do liars go to Hell?" Lying and homosexuality are both sins. No one sin is greater than the other. Well except denying the Holy Spirit.

Homosexuality is a sin if u live the lifestyle. Jesus didnt say "Go make people straight". We each have our cross to bear. Yours is Homosexuality. It just might mean u have to live a life of singleness.

If gays are going to hell for having anal sex, then about 99% of non-gay Christians out there are going to hell for adultery, fornication, gluttony, not observing the Sabbath, etc. Even if Christianity were true, being gay is no more sinful than being greedy or hypocritical or coveting your neighbor's ***--if Jesus can forgive those sins, why not yours?

As an atheist, though, I can assure you that you're not going to hell because it simply doesn't exist (well, except for parts of New Jersey)...

It depends on the religion. I think you mean that Christian gay people ask this question. Neo-Pagan gay people, as a rule, certainly don't, since the Neo-Pagan faiths tend to be accepting of homosexuality and generally do not believe that anyone would be sent to anything like Hell for such a thing.

Why are you so scared of dying, when it's inevitable. How about turning to Jesus who can help overcome this fear. When I was a very little boy, my Mother taught me the first two lines of the Psalm 23, ending it a little different: "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not fear." This was after we watched a horror movie and some friends told me ghost stories that were supposedly true. I have never feared death, anyone or anything since that day! The Lord is indeed our shepherd.

May God bless you.
