Lust: Another Name For Adultery

Sex is not sin--to enjoy it is.

In the Sermon on the Mount, the Lord Jesus shocked the people of His day when He equated lust to ADULTERY! His actual words are:

"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed ADULTERY with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into HELL."

Please note the serious consequences of lust (mental adultery). According to Jesus, it's possible to end up in Hell over this! Therefore, this sin must not be taken lightly, as many people do.

God said that followers of the Hebrew path are to "put no other Gods before me". Also, it is said that God is a jealous god - jealous of what/who if there are no other Gods. Does this not sound like there are indeed other Gods, only the Hebrews/Christians shouldn't be worshipping them?

im a muslim, and ive looked at some of these questions on yahoo, and they seem so ignorant, people saying, muslims are bad, and they teach kids to blow up buildings and rape woman.. Are You Kidding Me?? is it me or is there someone out there that also agrees that people shouldnt say ignorant things about religions they dont know... i mean just becuase hitler proclaimed he was christian doesnt mean people go off hating on christianity... on the second note. to let you know i was raised christian.. my mom being one, and my dad being a muslim, so maybe its easier for me to understand, but seriously people, we are all brothers and sisters, christians, jews, muslims, hindu's, buddhist, black, spanish, white, whatever you are, your human just like me.... our DNA is 99.99 % alike... how we look different, and have different believes shouldnt matter.... it also seems that people want to always show off about religion, and act how they are better then someone whos not religious, well is it me o

Is God's ego in that much need of stroking? Theists are funny with their constant chanting that they are not worthy and that God is all great and powerful and a great guy, but please don't squish them like ants, and he is so good looking and great and powerful, and please don't step on us, and can we kiss his butt anymore and we are not worthy, etc. How can anyone allow themselves to do that? That is why I always feel the need to wash my hands after meeting a religious person.

I know that we as muslims are commanded to, for only through questioning can you come to understanding. My faith has been made stronger by questioning it and then finding the answers within it that also made sense. My faith is also strengthened by those who stalk and ridicule, for I know I've touched a nerve and they did not like having to see that they were wrong in their assumptions. Do you question your faith? And has that helped you to better understand it?

A verse in the Qur’an states, “Those who remember Allah…reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth.” The Prophet Muhammad, peace be on him, said, “Seeking knowledge is a duty upon every Muslim.”

Maybe we could suggest to Yahoo that there be sites for the following: Major Religions, Off-beat Religions, Religious Trivia, Spiritual Happenings, Strange Ideas, Religious Bigots, etc. I think I could more easily keep up with a smaller stream of questions and answers. How about you?

hi to see my previous question
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArW2rkxOyg6n_0XT1IqmEBTsy6IX?qid=20070730132139AAyrGv9

i noticed that lots of christians got mad from my previous question..!
and some of them called me by a terrorist...and others were just insulting my religion or giving other explanation about other verses and topics ..cause they couldn't defend their religion...!
i mean why should i be terrorist or other names you called me by since this was written in your bible..???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i didn't write it or something...it's there in your book...whether you like it or not....but i can see that no one accepted the challenge cause you know deep that this verse is not true..and that means that some of the verses in your bible are corrupted...which means that your entire believe is corrupted...!!
and you are afraid from the TRUTH !

God knew all that would happen, child molesters, murders, drugs, and he is loving as well as all knowing. His plan? Why would he proceed with what he already knew was damned to hell, with the exception of a minority amount Christians, and only a fraction of them would make it to heaven. What is the point? Why all this big hastle and suffering? Why not truly create us in his image, knowing what he knows, then give us a free will. This would have enabled us to see as he sees and make an un-tainted choice. Instead we had free will, without full knowledge of the re-percussion of our sin. Adam and Eve supposedly operated with a full 100% of their brains capacity, yet were not fully aware of what God was saying? If they knew I doubt they would have ever ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They would have known good and evil, and not needed to eat of a tree to know it. So why all this hupla.Death of his only son etc.. I am a believer but have a little problem with this.

Ok, what I don't unerstand is, Christians who keep on criticizing Atheists. Why do you do it? You're not going to turn me into a Christian! Not unless you have proof, which you do not have. Some Christian already got me mad, which is impossible. This person really knows how to get me mad!
So, tell me, why don't some Christians keep their little comments to themselves and learn something. Like, for example, we didn't just appear magically and the world wasn't made in 6 days?
Can someone please explain this to me, because it seems to me like there are far more dumb Christians than I thought there would be!

Am I the only one who thinks animals have souls? I know my pets did (when I had pets) and many of them tried to talk and definately had a sense of humor. (NO, it was not conditioned behavior, as they did deliberately innovative things to amuse me.) They would get emotional, and get guilty and upset when they were scolded, and if they accidentally hurt me, they would IMMEDIATELY apologize in the only ways they could... but they knew I could understand their language, and they could understand mine. I won bets on this fact. (The bets were not MY idea, of course...) Anybody else?

seems like it would clear up the question of what point a given soul goes to hell. whether it be after death, or after judgement day.

if something is said in the bible against something, how can you condone the thing it is against? (the sin i mean) im not trying to step on toes but ive seen alot of condoning and saying that certain things are ok. when something is brought up some tend to come at you with "who are you to judge" how is it judging if your responding on the sin but not saying anything on where their going for living in the sin. remember i said "living" in it not just being human and falling short. im not sure that i understand where some of the christians are coming from. either you are with Christ or you are against him. there is no imbetween.

Over the past week God has put a burden on my heart to pray for this generation. We live in a world where the youth is becoming increasingly sinful. But thank God, there are young people being raised up to do the will of the Lord. I am 17, and I know that I need God's help everyday to live a Christian life. I know that Egypt's Disciple feels called to the missions field. And I give thanks to God for that. A good friend of mine is too led to go to the missions field. I feel a heavy calling on my life to do the Lord's will. Where He will have me do that, I am not sure. All I know is that the youth of today needs the prayers of all those surrounding us. So will you pray for today's generation? God bless and thank you.

If god really did die, who brought him back to life? It couldn't of been god, because he was dead, right? Maybe another god then? How many gods are there?

* Genesis 6:6-7 - "The LORD was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth—men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air—for I am grieved that I have made them."
i am christian, but i found this verse and i'm wondering.
if god does nothing by accident, and was, is, and forever will be the same, then what's up with that verse?
