my point is that why would you go off saying something of that ignorance... even though you think my religion is wrong

well if i am wrong... and judgement day comes and i stand before God, at least he will no that i was wrong with respect... i never once criticized a person for their religious beliefs, and i always repected other relgions... if i get punished then so be it... but i will know in my heart, i respected and loved people for who they were

and people that dont understand about islam... look if someone is killing people and saying he is doing it in the name of Allah... he is lying... God would never approve of that... it is a sin, and whoever did such a thing like hi jack the planes on 9-11 will get punished... my point is what if today, a man started killing people and said it was for Jesus Christ (god forbid) do you think you should be shameful for one mans actions... the terrorists are not muslim... you can t just say your muslim, you have to perform islam, and be good, just like any other religion, so why wont you go read the Quran, and find me a quote were it says go kill people for no reason

Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad and Krishna (among others) are different facets of the same gem of truth. Those who speak disparagely, speak out of their ignorance as they have not read the words of whatever one they "demonize". If they speak condemnation then they demonstrate that their spirituality is mere words and "spoken faith" as they demonstrate no internal change from the Spirit. They condemn themselves.

I was raised Mormon as a child, and have experienced both Roman Catholicism (which has mystical aspects similar to teachings of Dvaita Vedanta - too much Advaita would get you labelled a heretic) and nondenominational evangelical Christianity (which is pretty much Jesus-oriented bhakti - praise and worship music is Christian kirtan). It is a different cultural base though.

There are "Hindu Christian" organizations that honor, revere, and worship both Jesus and Krishna. The ones I am most familiar with are usually groups in the kriya yoga lineage of Paramahansa Yogananda and include the Self Realization Fellowship (known in India as Yogoda Satsanga Society), Ananda (founded by Donald Walters who was a disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda), and the Center for Spiritual Awareness (founded by Roy Eugene Davis who was a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda). These groups are easier ways to "ease" into Hinduism from Western thought.

There are common themes for many of the schools within Hinduism that can be found in the Vedic scriptures, and such works as the Bhagavad Gita. Remember yoga originated out of Hinduism. Most people only know the physical forms of yoga, called hatha, but those techniques area actually preparatory techniques for the higher practices of the spiritual types of yoga such as jnana, karma, and bhakti. You can practice a form of hatha but it helps to be grounded and centered in some sense in the higher forms of yoga or all you are doing is stretching. In the highest practices of yoga, they all lead to complete bhakti - surrender.

If you are interested in the yoga teachings of Lord Krishna, then one thing you may want to focus on to learn and practice in a more nonsectarian manner is the Uddhava Gita. The Uddhava Gita is a summation of the essence of the Bhagavad Gita (and the simplest and most direct practice of yoga), and so it is eminently suitable for nonsectarian, universal teaching which is the essence of Hinduism.

Here is a short summation of the Uddhava Gita which is found in the Srimad Bhagavatam (also known as Bhagavata Purana) 11.7:

EPILOGUE - LORD KRISHNA'S LAST SERMON

At the end of another long sermon comprising of more than one thousand verses, disciple Uddhava said: "O Lord Krishna, I think the pursuit of God as You narrated to Arjuna (in the Bhagavad Gita), and now to me, is very difficult indeed, for most people; because it entails control of unruly senses. Please tell me a short, simple, and easy way to God-realization." Lord Krishna upon Uddhava's request gave the essentials of Self-realization as follows:

· Do your duty, to the best of your ability, for Me without worrying about the outcome.

· Remember Me at all times. (Note that this is the point of chanting things like the mahamantra - Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Kare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare which is often chanted in kirtan or a variation of it. The whole point of kirtan and mantra is remembrance.)

· Perceive that God is within every living being. Mentally bow down to all beings and treat all beings equally.

· Perceive through the activities of mind, senses, breathing, and emotions that the power of God is within you at all times, and is constantly doing all the work using you as a mere instrument and a trustee.

I recommend the International Gita Society as they are nonsectarian, offer affordable translations of the Bhagavad Gita with commentary, and can help teach you the basics without having to spend a lot of money or submit to some guru you know nothing about:

first off, great answer first girl, you put alot of thought into it. now you said that Hitler said he was Christian and people do not hate Christians. Well the Nazis didn't go around killing in the name of God, they did it in the name of Hitler...huge difference. When you have Muslims killing people in the name of a religion then you have a serious problem. When people say that they hate Muslims, they don't really mean they hate all of them, just the radical Muslims that cause more bad than good. Also, what is wrong with saying you hate Christians? They believe that their religion is better and that the only way to get out of going to hell is to go through a man who was nothing more than any other self proclaimed messiah of the day. I just equally hate everyone and it prevents me from treating anyone differently.

thanks you, im glad someone else shares my views on this question.

i dont see a difference between religions, as long as you believe in some higher power or some sort of god you should remember one thing-we're all alive. whoever or whatever created us hasnt stopped a certain religion from existing, if the case was that a religion was right wouldnt there god not have them exist?

to think a certain religion is better then another is ignorant. we're all the same on the inside, muslim christian or athiest. theres no right answer, as long as you acknowledge that your alive and free to do whatever you want and think whatever you like is more then enough to accept others for what they belive.
i hope one day people will get past all these crippling thoughts and accept each other for what they are, human beings.

Righteousness and intelligence must struggle to make for values. Religions are about showing way and love, even values, so where there is tollerance and respect added to adapt to other societies´ values and tradition, there is no space left to endure own form of life. Being truthful and noble, also realizing one is not important are means to see truth and explain what is happening.
This is not possible without love given instead of taken, a true religion will only expect love rendered and family respected.
They are not meant for unadequacies and disregard for confort. They should not justify attacks, but explain people are different to enhance and uphold evolution, nature does clash and suffering is permitted so some are seen as different and very much efforted beings. We must see those who do not love already have their reward which is peace of mind, those with spiritual values in mind have troubles and are so gracious about them, we do not tire and want more troubles for our time, not grants.
Now I see evolved people do not waste time and see eagerness as a good trait, while impatience and dellusions are bad traits, good and bad are both useful, yet one gets you higher in other people´s standards and the other does not. We are both good and bad, we live under society and nobility, I am to say some are of high birth and must be respected diferently. There are scant reminders. Not to be taken seriously, there is always time, but simpathy is given to those friendly folks with disregard for their own confort.

*Is Catholic* I don't mind because I either win or frustrate the other person to the point that they go away. There are various tricks to dealing with the "its not in the bible" game. The trick that I want you to learn is to not get into a situation where you have to "prove it by the bible". Stick hard and fast to what the Catechism says, that we are not a people of the book but rather a people of Christ. Scripture does not tell us what to believe, rather it testifies to what was/is believed. Learn John 20:30 by heart. It says that the teachings of Christ are not all in scripture. That is the answer that you give if someone says if it is not the the bible it is not true. But again the key is to hammer hard and fast on the proper usage of scripture and never ever agree to let scripture alone define what Catholicism is. Differentiate. Say Catholics believe this because XYZ while Protestants believe ABC. Show (or say often) that the early Christians believed the same as Catholics. If you ever need help let me know (message me)

Why hate and argue over religions? ...because throughout human history nothing has caused more misery and suffering than organized religions. Take the long view and it's Crusades and Inquisitions, genocidal wars fought for the sake of imaginary trivia. Take the short view and it's suicide bombers, an endless series of Jihads, and G.W. Bush's personal War on Terror. Look at organized religion at the level of the individual and it's the total subjugation of personal freedoms to the purported will of an unvarifiable deity.

The scientific revolution began in 1590, when the physics experiments of Galileo Galilei proved conclusively that the physical realm is absolutely real. Freed of the unsubstantiated speculations of Aristotle's Solipsism, which purported that the physical realm was a mental illusion, humanity has since made enormous technological progress. The scientific method works precisely because it requires varifiable physical evidence to support all experimental hypotheses.

On the other hand, religion fails to benefit the human race and creates much pain and suffering because it is based on the unprovable assertion that God exists. Organized religion depends on a hierarchy of authority, rather than on testable facts, to support its unsubstantiated assertions. This is precisely why religion fails to provide the stable foundation needed to support human civilization. It is the nature of human males to compete for power and control over other people and, precisely because nothing about religion is demonstratably true, it perpetually fuels the fires of human conflict. Human civilization will never reach its full potential until we are able to finally discard the superstitions and bigotry of our ancient ancestors. That is why it is essential that every possible effort be made to release the stranglehold of organized religion upon the human race. All we have to lose is the tyranny of those who cleverly use superstition to control us. What we have to gain is freedom of individual thought, freedom of individual action, and the possibility that humanity will eventually achieve its full potential.

Well, it doesn't say kill others to spread your religion in any other "holy" books that I know of, first. Second, we are all human brothers and sisters, but, Christians believe only they will have eternal life, just like Muslims, so, we want others to have it to, and not burn in hell. The biggest difference is that Christians don't usually blow people up to get them to join them. Last, Hitler was a CATHOLIC, so were the crusaders, big difference between them and true Christ followers.

I am not judging you because I am stating fact about the Koran which says it is ok to lie to deceive the rest of us infidels and to use the sword. Just because you don't like everyone knowing it doesn't make me wrong.

I agree. I'm a Christian and although we would have obvious religious differences. I've read parts of the Qur'an and it has a great message. We share a lot of common beliefs. If we all just practiced what we believed, the world would be a much better place.
