Is God's ego in that much need of stroking? Theists are funny with their constant chanting that they are not worthy and that God is all great and powerful and a great guy, but please don't squish them like ants, and he is so good looking and great and powerful, and please don't step on us, and can we kiss his butt anymore and we are not worthy, etc. How can anyone allow themselves to do that? That is why I always feel the need to wash my hands after meeting a religious person.

Pam T: Grow up, that is the worst answer that I have ever heard from a theist. What a childish response that says nothing.

So those people who are saying that God does not need us, but we need him. According to you, he created us so obviously he wanted us. And even though you may need him, does that mean you have to kiss his butt in such a demeaning way? You need your parents growing up, but you do not get on your hands and knees and grovel and kiss their butts. So try again, make it a real answer, you answers are as good as "just because".

"shes a smart one": So you worship (grovel) to God because of what he gives you. So that means someone born with cancer or born in constant pain with a terrible life should give God the finger and spit on him, since God gave them nothing but pain and suffering, something nobody would call a true life. So, here is your bubble burst.

Simple Yes or No answer.Corona.!!
If you Knew that everytime you took a Deep breath you had to thank someone, and you loved the idea of being alive..would you do it?
The Creator does not expect us to be on our hands and knees praying to him every waking Moment, but he does want us to know that we appreciate the life he has given us. We may or may not forget our parents, but when we love them, we make sure that we stay in contact with them and are concerned about their welfare. Its the otherway round with Our God, his concerned about our welfare, and he demonstarted it by sending his son to die for us.If You cannot begin to think what that means for us, then you need to study the scriptures in depth.

The big problem with your line of thought is that the whole thing has to be all about you. There's so much more if you just give it a chance. God offers you love, grace, peace and even prosperity. He has a plan even for you, all you have to do is accept him.

That's an outsiders view. We're not obligated to worship and praise Him. He doesn't hold any threats of judgment over our heads if we don't. We don't kowtow. We don't grovel. We come to Him as our Father and as our God. I don't have to beg Him for anything. Worship and praise is simply bragging on you dad. Not exactly like, but kinda like "My dad can whip your dad! He's so strong! He's able to do anything!"
Our love for Him motivates our praise. Experiencing His goodness and mercy prompts our worship. Not fear or intimidation.

Um, I don't believe that God "needs to be praised all the time."
What I believe is that once we start to believe in God, and we realize who and what He is, we will WANT to praise Him. I'm afraid you're not understanding of this at all.

The difference is we worship something besides ourselves! You worship yourself!
From your response, sounds like I hit the nail on the head!

The reason why you won't get it is because you keep using the word, "need".
I have more to say, but you really don't care, do you?
