Unfortuantely accidents happen. That's just how life is. We also have to remember that God gives us free will and there is also another player in the game, Satan. God could give us the ultimatum of loving Him or else, however, he allows us to make choices of our own free will. That's why the devil is free to roam about and cause mischief and mayhem. Often times it is during tragic times such at this when our faith is truly tested. We must always remember to pray. Peace and God bless.

This is a horrible accident, and no one, nor God, would ever want this to happen.
Why aren't you asking why an 18th month old child wasn't being closely supervised? That would be the responsibility of the parents, and clearly they had a small window in which they failed to protect this child. God help them, and I do not wish them or theirs harm, nor do I make a judgement that they are bad people. Lord knows, I have had lapses myself no doubt, and apparently was just fortunate something like this didn't happen to one of my children. This was an accident caused by HUMAN error, and as God allows us to live by our own choices, accidents can and do happen.

I couldn't tell you why God allowed it. I did answer a question about that same story earlier though. I'll see if I can't find a link. In the meantime, try looking up the name "Marc Harrienger."
His only child was killed in a similar accident.

Just look at it this way........The closer you are to GOD and being with him the Harder your Test will become to Recieving His Eternal Gift! Nothing matters more than that so be thankful! His gift is more Rewarding than anything here! Eternal Life and not this Life! Right? So stay strong in Faith and don't let the evil one bring you down!

Why do athiests who don't believe in God, blame him when ever something bad happens?
God doesn't cause bad things to happen, the child's time had come and before arriving on earth chose this way to die. She has received a free ticket to the Celestial Kingdom, no questions asked.

it's not god's fault, we make our own decisions, and god guides us, but if we don't listen to him, we hurt things and people around us, thats why, yes, some good people get hurt. But then again, no ones perfect, and everyone, no matter how evil they seem have a little good in them and everyone is equal, so you can't really say this, it's our own human decisions. If you don't run the machine right you can hurt a) yourself. b) ruin the machine, and c) hurt others. a human is a very complex machine, some people don't know how to work it.

These things happen because accidents happen. The lack of any god has nothing to do with this.

Obviously, the father feels incredibly bad for what he did. If I were that guy, I don't know if I could ever forgive myself.
God loves that little girl and she is with Him now in Heaven.

Since god is a fiction, god had nothing to do with it. The real world is sublimely indifferent to human woes.
