if something is said in the bible against something, how can you condone the thing it is against? (the sin i mean) im not trying to step on toes but ive seen alot of condoning and saying that certain things are ok. when something is brought up some tend to come at you with "who are you to judge" how is it judging if your responding on the sin but not saying anything on where their going for living in the sin. remember i said "living" in it not just being human and falling short. im not sure that i understand where some of the christians are coming from. either you are with Christ or you are against him. there is no imbetween.

What you are talking about is something the Bible calls "men having itching ears". Paul spoke to Timothy about it in 2nd Timothy 4:2-4 when he says this” Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."
Does this sound like what you are dealing with? It's fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Don't get mad, Just do what the Bible says, PREACH THE WORD. Don't worry about what everybody else is doing.

Many people want to be Christians, and followers of Christ, but only on their terms, not His.

We have a term for people like that where I come from - "Salad Bar Christians". They pick and choose what looks good to them, and what they wish to partake of, and ignore the rest.

A lot of people misinterpret what it means to judge. When you point out a sin, and take a stand against it as being wrong, you are not "judging" a person. If a person is sinning, they are sinning, and sin over thousands of years has been pretty well defined by now. Anyone who seriously asks if this or that is a sin hasn't been in touch, or done the required reading.

An example of someone being judgemental would be to assume that this or that person is going to end up in hell. Only God will know or decide that. A person who you might consider hell-bound may very well be standing right next to you in heaven when it's all over.

Sometimes when it comes to people who are leading sinful lives, and whose hearts are hardened to the message of God, all we can do is quietly pray for them, and ask God for mercy on their behalf. Maybe they will change, and maybe they won't.

I agree with you - either you are with Christ or you are not.

But, what you must realize is that your opinion of interpretation of scripture could be quite different from another's opinion of interpretation.

Remember, there are many different religions, and even many different protestant religions. They all have well-studied theologians, who know the original texts...and many of them will read the exact same verse and interpret it differently....which religion is correct, which is incorrect? Or, are they all correct?

It comes down to your relationship with God. You should not try to make the world conform to your limited view of what God is and what he expects,etc....and your opinion of interpretationi of scripture.

Live your life as you feel God would want you to live...do unto others as you would have them do unto you...respect other's beliefs and opinions of interpretations...and work together to make the world a better place....do the things God has commanded you to...feed the hungry, care for the poor, the orphans and widows....by being this type of caring person, you will show Christ's love, and be a great witness for him...a more effective witness than thumping people over the head with a Bible and arguing semantics....

Perhaps the people who are answering "follow your heart" aren't really Christians, just think they are because they were brought up in that culture. If you are a true Christian, you know the heart is deceitful above all things so the only truth is in the Bible. Going against it to follow your heart is sin, no in-between. With that being said, Christians are human, not perfect, so we still sin, unfortunately, but, it should bother us now, because of the Holy Spirit. If you continue to live in it, I would question your true conversion to Christianity.

everyone sins.
no one in the world is perfect.
Christians included.
we screw up just like everyone else and some worse then others. and each in diffrient ways and areas.
as far as judging others I dont say. BURN IN HELL. thats just wrong. but I do say, if you dont find christ you wont go to heaven.
that is not judging. that is stating a fact the bible says.

I appoligize if I have judged others at all. Its not my place to do.
also realize there are a few christians that havent read not to judge others.

It appears to me that the Apostle John would agree with you:

"Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.
This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous. Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him."
I John 3:4-15

You're on to something there. Its the difference between calling yourself a Christian, and being one. (The same goes for other religions too.) One reason, I believe is because people like the idea of heaven, but do not like the idea of radically changing their lives in the way that Christ calls them to do.

While I do not condone sin, I also do not and will not condone a group of Christians who pick a particular sin and publicly condemn all those who struggle with it.

Christians aren't perfect. In fact, many Christians are the worst sinners.

The only difference between a Christ follower and a non-believer is the relationship with Christ.

Specifics?

The gist of the Bible is: Good people do not go to heaven; FORGIVEN people do.

God looks at the heart of the man or woman; not necessarily all the mistakes they made.
