Lust: Another Name For Adultery
Sex is not sin--to enjoy it is.
In the Sermon on the Mount, the Lord Jesus shocked the people of His day when He equated lust to ADULTERY! His actual words are:
"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed ADULTERY with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into HELL."
Please note the serious consequences of lust (mental adultery). According to Jesus, it's possible to end up in Hell over this! Therefore, this sin must not be taken lightly, as many people do.

About Me: I made a commitment to Christ at fourteen years of age. At that time I felt the call of God on my life and at seventeen I married my sweetheart, Tom Hanson.
We had a 2 months old daughter from me and Hanson, and two one year old sons from a previous encounter and one while travelling to Uganda from a guy whom I was able to convert to the Lord's way. When we married, Hanson was a very spiritual young man and he thought someday he would become a preacher and me would be a preachers wife. But God had some other plan. So, today
I myself operate the ministry with my girlfriend Cindy. Hanson and I got divorced--but we still co-operate
and have maintained a close friendship.

The wanting or lust that one feels towards one's own spouse is not adultery.
However, adultery is a sin. Sex is not only for procreation. Sex was also invented by God for a husband and wife to enjoy one another. Otherwise, God would have not made sexual intercourse as enjoyable as it is.

The Original Sin was rebellion against God and not adultery. With whom could Adam and Eve commit adultery even in mind?

In 1 Corinthians it says that husbands and wives are suppose to enjoy each other and yes if we look at others with an intent to lust then it is as committing adultery.
If we are not married its considered fornication and God despises both-adultery and fornication.

first of all lust is not adultery. lust is self indulgent sexual desires.
adultery is a sin. lust is a sin. but to enjoy having sex with your spouse is definitely not a sin. as a matter of fact the bible encourages you to enjoy your spouse and to have a healthy sexual relationship with him or her.
Eve is told that despite the pain of childbirth, "your desire shall be for your husband" (Gen 3:16).
Divine beings were said to desire the beautiful human women (Gen 6:2).
Sarah describes sexual intercourse as "pleasure" (Genesis 18:12).
Isaac is noticed "fondling his wife Rebekah" (Gen 26:8).
Leah and Rachel negotiate for Jacob's sexual favors (Gen 30:14-16).
Potiphar's wife strongly desires Joseph and asks him to sleep with her (Gen 39:7).
"Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. May her breasts satisfy you at all times; may you be intoxicated always by her love" (Prov 5:18-19).

You are wrong! There is a difference between lust and adultery. Sex between married persons is not a sin, even if they lust after one another.

Enjoying sex is a gift of God, not sin. Having sex for self and not for your partner is lust.

Hmmm, interesting comment coming from a person who had kids outside of marriage, got divorced, and is now working with her "girlfriend." I wonder what God has to say about that?

wow. it's a sin to enjoy sex? even within a marriage? if so, it is nearly impossible to avoid. however, you need to realize that lust is one of the things that has helped our species to thrive. if sex didn't feel good, we would do it much less often and we would be less likely to reproduce. God wants us to enjoy sex, within the right boundaries.

If sex is not to enjoy, then why in the world would it say in the Bible that it IS? I'm afraid you've been misinformed. As for your private life, what does that have to do with anything?
