"okay so SOMETHING had to cause the big bang I mean we didn't just come from nothing right? I mean everything has to of been created!"

so what created god? don't give me "god's always existed and has no creator"

I get that alot and it holds no ground with me because it contradicts your own arguement

lets think of it this way

Man creates a new sentient species. (let's call it fred so I can be lazy) From freds PoV we gave him life, so we must be all powerful and all knowing anything we say will be truth to him, for example if we say red is blue and 3 is 12 or that we are gods he has no reason to disbelieve us, we created him so naturally we know more than him

So if we created fred and freda and they think of us as gods whos to say god doesn't have a creator either just because he created us? so logicaly if he exists he had to come from somewhere or something.
either that or the arguement that we can't come from nothing and that the big bang theory is false because of this is null

Guys...your answers were great. Does anyone out there have the courage to study 'fulfilled Bible prophecy' ? Those of you who want 'scientific proof' of creation, and of God's existence will surely want to do a little research. Did you know that Isaiah the prophet prophesied the exact details of Jesus' crucifixion 700 years before this event took place? No one has ever disproven FULFILLED PROHECY. These fulfilled prophecies then sort of validate creation! You realize, don't you, that evolution is still just what Darwin called it? A theory. Check out this link if you are broad minded enough.

I think its:

Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe. (American Heritage Dictionary)

and

A set of beliefs, values, and practices

But I was interested to see what others think the definition is.

What can religion hurt? What if God is real, and you are sent to hell because you never believed? Why are you atheists in the first place?

So, I am reading this question that this chick posted with sayings on it. It was cute, and completely innocent in my view, yet she got ppl who answered bitchin at her. Why do some many ppl find it nessicary to ***** and moan when someone thinks differently then them? Doesn't everyone have a right to their opinion? I am a proud Wiccan, but I don't run around screaming what I believe. I know in my heart and soul what I believe is right, but that doesn't keep me from letting other ppl believe what they want. In their heart and soul there is Jesus and God, and I am cool with that, but I am sick of closed minded ppl just assuming they know everything, especially when they have no proof. I can say I haven't ever had a one on one conversation with the Lord and Lady, but to me, I am right. Shouldn't that be what matters?

Some of their attitudes are so cruel and often borderline sadistic Maybe they should show us delusional folks that they can build a better civilization by themselves and not rely on a patheticly brainwashed human race.

I have done level 1 but it unsettled me because when i put my hands on one of the women in the group I shut my eyes and suddenly a really close up wrinkled old face appeared in front of me and I had a sense that something horrible had happened to the woman.
Can anyone explain this.
I would like to do level 2 but fear is holding me back.

The following WHOLE verses have been removed/destroyed in the NIV--whether in the text or footnotes...over 40 IN ALL!!! They declared biblical verses apocrypha – doubtful authority.

"Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting."

If you have had a experience with God, then what's the purpose of faith. To me, this is like saying that you need faith, or it's just a belief that your mom gave birth to you.

Ive read from a sermon by T.D. Jakes that Jesus was sent to the lost, the ones who had lost their way, their humanity. Jesus was not sent to those who were already in their right mind..who were already proper people..who were already following the path of righteousness.

My question is: When Jesus said I am the way to the Lord, was he addressing only the ones who were lost? The ones who didnt know the way to the Lord? or both the lost and those who knew the way to the Lord?

Please name sources. Thank you

Starting with an open mind, why should I believe the Bible is inerrant? After all, we don't really know who wrote its parts, or when. Some say it was created from previous documents or traditions. We don't still use iron age technology, so why believe in an iron age book?

Not only that, but there are other holy books. What is it about the Bible that makes it more reliable than, say, the Vedas or the Koran?

If I'm going to start putting complete faith in a book which was written under unknown circumstances by people unknown I will need a very very good reason to.

They also claim that Catholics were responsible for the assassination of President Lincoln, among others, and the sinking of the Titanic. I found all this in a booklet someone sent me and find the theories quite fascinating, if a bit implausible. I'd like to know who this group is. The booklet doesn't reveal their name, but gives a web address (www.endtime.net), which also does not give the name of the group. Who are they? All I can see from the literature is that they are Christians, albeit rather unusual ones from the theories!

This may sound like a crazy question, but I'm really serious here. I believe in God and am of the Christian faith, but sometimes I get to wondering...I know God made everything, including man, but I have to wonder about scientifically when they talk about the dinosaurs where they come into play. Were they created before Adam and Eve? And if so, then how did they all become extinct while humans did not? I know this sounds crazy, but it has always made me wonder if there ever were dinosaurs or prehistoric men or anything like that, because the Bible doesn't really support those scientific findings. Any thoughts on the subject?

all thinking does is divide our species. look at the middle east. everyone is killing each other because of what everyone "thinks" about god.

I say that it's high time the government steps in and begins removing portions of all human brains before it's too late!

I know that there are many of you who are well versed in dream interpretation at some point... so I'm asking your wise opinion on these dreams:

1) To kneel before the feet of Lord Krsna in his throne. Crying before him while in that kneeling position, looking only at his feet and listening to his sweet voice expounding the Dharma.

2) Becoming a Sadhu, alone in the forest... facing the four seasons and finding a great bull in the midst of the journey.

3) Opening a stupa to find Lord Buddha's relics and other Arahantas' relics manifesting before your eyes...

Whether you are a Christian, Jew, Muslim, will you please pray for those who are "face blind." After seeing the Yahoo article I felt very bad for someone who would have to live with that all of his or her life. Just think if you had to live with a condition that caused you to not recognize your family friends and loved ones when you saw them. So will you just say a prayer for those who have to live with that?
