Ive read from a sermon by T.D. Jakes that Jesus was sent to the lost, the ones who had lost their way, their humanity. Jesus was not sent to those who were already in their right mind..who were already proper people..who were already following the path of righteousness.

My question is: When Jesus said I am the way to the Lord, was he addressing only the ones who were lost? The ones who didnt know the way to the Lord? or both the lost and those who knew the way to the Lord?

Please name sources. Thank you

'no man cometh to the lord but by me'

I think the underlying meaning in the sentence is: men who have NOT reached God yet. Because if it was meant to those who werent lost, it would have said: all men whether lost or not lost will come to the Lord by me.

The god of the old testament was a god made up by the jews to enslave people , why do you think jesus was send. the king of israel knew that the saviour would come to challenge the church, that is why he killed all the child boys hoping Jesus was one of them..The father of Jesus didnt send Jesus to earth to save the unbelievers , but to save the people from the church of the devil.God, Jesus and the holyspirit are one.if you believe in Jesus and turn away from the world the holyspirit will come over you and lead you in the truth.
The truth is do not believe in the church , but in God ..God is love he sent his son to make us free .The devil is the god of the world, that means the god of the church .The devil that the church proclaim is actualy the God of love, and the god the church proclaim is the devil Jesus told the pharisees that their god is the devil, even the prophets were killed by the church when they prophecysed about God All churches that are christian are from the devil. That is why the more christians that were killed ,the more christians become ,that is why the devil saw that the only way to won was to join them and spread hate in the name of God and Jesus as to make the people turn away from God and blame God for the misery in this world. The church is the culprit

Atheists are more true in believing in God than christians even when they deny his existence

When Jesus said that he was sent for the ones who had lost their way, he was trying to confound those who questioned his association with the people considered as sinners. that's why he also said that the whole needs no physician.
Life is a continuing journey. When Jesus said i am the way, he was addressing to everyone of us because we are not yet there where we could consider ourselves perfect or saved. and so we need his guidance continuously (nobody's perfect, remeber?). We all must endure to the end or if before the end we lost that straight and narrow path, we still won't be able to reach that ultimate goal where He wants us to be.

While I can't name the source, it's in the Gospels in the New Testament. The last part of your question intrigued me, though. When Jesus said I am the way to the Lord, He meant only through Him you can have salvation and have a place with God for all eternity. This is for EVERYBODY, because even Born Agains sometimes forget how to be saved. Christ addressed this immediately. To accept Christ, you accept His gift of forgiveness and His blood paid for you to be freed from sin. In other words, no good deeds, church membership or other legalistic ways can save you from Hell or make you one with God. I hope this helps you.

The answer is in the Bible verse itself. Just finish reading it....

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

NO MAN cometh unto the Father BUT BY ME.

This would include everyone; believer or unbelieving.

Everyone must go through Crhist to approach the Father.

Is there any limit of biblical/Christian absurdity.
‘Christ according to the faith, is the second person in the Trinity, the Father being the first and the holy Ghost the third. Each of these three persons is God. Christ is his own father and his own son. The Holy Ghost is neither father nor son, but both. The son was begotten by the father, but existed before he was begotten--just the same before as after. Christ is just as old as his father, and the father is just as young as his son. The Holy Ghost proceeded form the Father and Son, but was an equal to the Father and Son before he proceeded, that is to say before he existed, but he is of the same age as the other two. Nothing ever was, nothing ever can be more perfectly idiotic and absurd than the dogma of the Trinity.’

think about this, why was Jesus send by God to earth to die ? For the lost sinners. we are all lost, we are all sinners. Before jesus arrived in the New Testament, He had been prophesied, but people just like us, they wanted to really know and so Jesus was sent to save us and die for our sins so we wouldn't have to do all those ridiculous scarifices they did in the old testament. He was sent for all because we are all lost without God. You will find places in the scripture that say things like "we are all filthy rags" for which of us can cast the first stone because we have never sinned like towards Mary in the Bible when she found out she was PG by God ? Jesus also said in one of his parables, let the man who has not sinned cast the first stone and they all walked away.So we are all lost.

It's your shot!

Belive T.D. Jakes (i've not heard of him), or believe the bible!

Jesus said the only way to reach God was through him. That applies to everyone that wants to reach God.

awww im not sure about sources, I think you would want to do you own research to get that. Asking people here is like asking an aboriginal about mexican politics.

But I'm a universailist, and I believe that the entire christian faith is just another path to spiritual fulfillment, thus he was the way for those who did not know the path.

I don't have a source to cite but he addressing everyone (in reality at the time he was only addressing those within listening distance - but that is another discussion). His message was always to everyone because none of us is without sin.

Good Luck!!!

THE LORD JESUS CHIRST was addressing all. To HIS servants is to remind them and to those lost, they are given the direction and guidance of THE LORD GOD.
