Never read the NIV for this reason. The New American Standard (NAS), either release, is supposed to be the most accurate today in English as to connotations and etc.. The KJV is still very accurate for all main truths. Using these translations and asking God to open your understanding as you read should be sufficient. Yes, the NIV, Living and JWs version all have major errors.

What many people don't realize is that the oldest edition of the Bible is not the King James Version, and it is not in English. Neither is it separated into chapter and verse.

The oldest edition of the Old Testament in known as the Masoretic Text. However, this is not just a single manuscript. It is a collection of manuscripts (from around the same general period), and NONE OF ARE IDENTICAL.

The same is true for the New Testament. The oldest edition is NOT the King James Version. It is not in English, and it is not separated by Chapter and Verse. The oldest versions of the New Testament exists in a plethora of Greek Manuscripts, NONE OF WHICH AGREE 100%.

Another false assumption about the King James Version is that it was a completely new translation from manuscript. Not True. The translators of the KJV for the most part followed the Bishiop's Bible of 1568, consulting other English Translations along the way, such as the Tyndae, Coverdale, and Geneva Bibles. The removed margin notes from the Bishop's Bible which they felt encouraged disobedience to the King (which was the whole reason for the new edition to begin with) and they added Christology to Old Testament passages where it previous didn't exist. An example is Psalm 22:17.

All versions are exactly that...versions. That's why it's important to look at different versions and get a better idea of the intent of the scripture. It's best to use versions translated by a group of scholars instead of one person, however, that doesn't mean a version by one person is worthless. The only other thing we can do is learn Hebrew, Arabic, and Greek and study the original manuscripts.

As a lifelong Christian and analyzing the Bible. God is the father, Jesus is the son and the Holy Spirit is the Holy Ghost. they are all 3 factors (The Trinity) of the comparable. you should use the two "baptism in Jesus call" or "baptism contained interior the call of pop, son and Holy Ghost". there is not any precise or incorrect approximately it. God will settle for all. (do not enable each and every person else convince you in any different case). God bless.

My Bible marks them as "not in all manuscripts". But all of the "root" scriptures still stand. One is John 3:16.

What would you do if it (the Word) goes against what you teach in your religion? You'de write your own version of what you believe and throw the others away. Well, isn't that just like religious folks? Now, let's talk about salvation.

God never changes his word, & God & the Holy Ghost is the same Spirit. Only God is used in the term as the creator & the Holy Ghost is used in the term as the Comforter. But they are the self same spirit & not 2 different spirits. men is what changes God's word.
