I have done level 1 but it unsettled me because when i put my hands on one of the women in the group I shut my eyes and suddenly a really close up wrinkled old face appeared in front of me and I had a sense that something horrible had happened to the woman.
Can anyone explain this.
I would like to do level 2 but fear is holding me back.

Im a Reiki 3 and Ive experienced something similar to what youve experienced.
A friend of mine had lost a sibling and Ive met her months later to give her a Reiki seance. Just in the beginning of it I felt this sense of extreme grief overwhelm me. I felt the need to cry so badly tears came out of my eyes. I wasnt in a particularly emotional day either mind you. I realized that somehow I tapped into her emotional mind and felt her feelings.
This is perhaps a form of what youve experienced. She is either thinking about this, or has had a moving experience prior to the Reiki seance.
Maybe you should ask her? I always do when I feel things. When the other person knows I can feel their emotions they feel understood and happy. This also forms a bond with the person youre treating.
Ofcourse you should go for the next step in Reiki when youre ready and have enough practice with Reiki 1.
All in all, I hope it turns out to be a great experience of learning for you :)

I would say speak to your teachers about it.
I think this is probably one of the joys about Reiki though being able to sense things.
This can actually help with your ability to heal as you have the knowledge of what has happened to her in the past which could be something which is still having an effect on the lady.
I would say don't fear it. If you see something which alarms you, use it to your advantage to maximise the healing potential.
I think sometimes we need to see or know of what has happened in the past, no matter how bad it is, to help heal emotional wounds.

As a Reiki Master I can say you have too vivid an i8magination there is nothing to fear and reiki isa not against nor go against teachings of any religion

Massage is an extremely intimate experience,in ancient cultures,who performed massages,absorbed the negative energy causing the problem. I perform curative massages,sometimes you absorb more than the physical problem,sometimes you get a glimpse of the person's soul,past problems,how they really are behind the mask. Don't be afraid,we are energy,energy transmits.

Reiki isnt about god and all that rubbish!
Rieki is channeling positive energy
when i have reflexology he does some reiki at the end and my feet and legs go burning hot with pins and needles and he's not even touching me !
