Computers, the Internet, stunning medical advances, space travel, air travel, television, DNA, cell phones, automobiles, etc., etc. To many of the believers, they are more than okay, they make the world go round. But the Big Bang, Darwin's Origin of the Species, bones of ancient critters, and all sorts of other stuff we're discovering nowadays about our origins are apt to leave many a believer frozen in fear and denial and a closed-mind. Why?

...that life is difficult? Or are you still trying to avoid it through your religious beliefs?

If we weren't allowed to teach kids religion, it would allow them the choice. Most wouldn't choose a religion if they weren't born and raised with it, because they would be smart enough to not just accept their parent telling them it as proof. As less and less became religious, it would undo some of the restraints religion has brought on society. We would be allowed to advance more. But, The idea is unrealistic, for many reasons. I want to hear your opinion on the subject, though.

Questions:

1. What do you think would happen if the government actually decided to make it against the law to teach religion to children?

2. What do you think would happen if everyone followed the law? Do you think society would be better if everyone had the choice to choose religion, rather than having it forced on them as a kid? Do you think we would be more advanced in things that are viewed as wrong (Cloning, Etc).

Remember, all question are hypothetical, please don't answer with 'it wouldn't happen'.

When they loose a spouse in death. (As in my case)
How does that ruin marriage?
Boys need good men and girls need good women to have a healthy view of life and people which both sexes make to children. People need to GET OFF there high horses that being married is just some fly by night union, and if a day comes that we call a homosexual union a Marraige that is the day we should enact a law that says ONLY people who plan to get together and have babies can be married ALL others can have legal contracts and if that means me so be it, because ALL CHILDREN have a right to a Mother and Father. Most of us did right?.

By simply asking "Non-Christians: What does 'marriage' mean to you?" I garnered a lot of judgment of my character, religion and beliefs, and even a bit of wrath from some responders. I've seen this a lot on Answers and have caught myself doing it as well. Do you notice this as a problem and do you have any solutions? Would we be able to give better answers if we didn't read so much into each question?

(I realize that there often IS a lot that can be read into many questions.)

When Jesus walked the earth, they called him Yeshua. Jesus is not a Jewish name. I think it's really important that we use his real name because there are several scriptures that point to the importance of his name. Like when Yeshua said, "Anything you ask the Father in my name, I will do." Could it be that not very many miracles are being performed today because we're asking in the wrong name? One of Yeshua's apostles wrote, "By no other name are we saved." Why risk tampering with the Lord's name? I've been Praying using "In Yeshua's name amen" and I've been feeling alot of deep peace I've not felt before. I think there are alot of negetive feelings attached to the name Jesus.

First of all thier has never been Homosexual Marraige..
Marraige if you take the biblical connotation away from, is only a legal contract between 2 people that allows them to reap tax, medical and estate priviledges.

I am married for the second time have no children with current husband and we reap the benefits of being married. The only reason I married is because I am a christian and trying to follow GOD's path outlined in the Bible, if I wasn't a christian I would have no need for marrraige if I had a legal contract agreed with my partner.
Homosexuals should have legal contracts with there partners because they honestly cannot say they are following GOD's marraige commandments that would be blasphemy. Many acts are condemned by GOD sex out of wedlock is as well.
We cannot change the bible to suit are own morality and value. Why isn't a legal contract between 2 adults good enough?

In my last question, I got this "brilliant reply"

"Obviously the marriage tradition was handed down with the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve which would cover EVERY human from creation on."

Evidence? Also, what other tradition has been handed down from Adam and Eve?

And why is Adam and Eve only spoken about in the desert of Isreal? Why don't the Chinese or Native Americans speak about Adam and Eve? They can hand down marriage but not the story of the first people?

This is the definition of Witness: wit·ness (wĭt'nĭs)
n.

One who can give a firsthand account of something seen, heard, or experienced: a witness to the accident.
One who furnishes evidence.
Something that serves as evidence; a sign.

So wouldn't this in essence make you Jehovah Speculators?

I see posts all the time in here asking why non Christians are here , why Atheists are here etc
and yes I know this is a minority ( because there are some cool Christians )
but for those who ask this , what would it leave ?
you know your book , your religion .... you all claim to be pretty sure of the answers
so what would you discuss ?
aren't there sites already that just cater to Christians ? why not go there if that is what you want ?

seriously I am not bashing here , but genuinly curious
I have my own beliefs , and believe in God .... and I welcome the comments and questions from the Atheists and people from other religions because I like to ponder things , I love to learn
why don't you ?

...when the Godless take advantage of you?

No moral precepts sounds like a "fun" way to live, I mean, when anything goes, ANYTHING is up for grabs. Are you then shocked that the Godless have as much freewill and choice as anyone else?

Or did you believe God created Robots out of Christians, Muslims, etc?
