...when the Godless take advantage of you?

No moral precepts sounds like a "fun" way to live, I mean, when anything goes, ANYTHING is up for grabs. Are you then shocked that the Godless have as much freewill and choice as anyone else?

Or did you believe God created Robots out of Christians, Muslims, etc?

You are confusing lack of belief in supernatural beings with a lack of morality. It's a common mistake made by the ignorant.

Here's a big eye opener for you. Morality and compassion and honor exist in the absence of supernatural beings and divine punishment. The only difference is that we are kind and honest because we want to be, not because we are expecting to be rewarded later.

You need to crack a philosophy book before you embarrass yourself.

Are you aware that your question has NO grounding in reality?

Do you have evidence that we are shocked at godless behavior, or are you ASSuming it based on what your religion tells you about the godless? In my admittedly anecdotal experience, the godless are far more often surprised at what *Christians* do than what fellow godless do. (As for the Muslims, they're becoming disturbingly predictable.)

Are you aware that we have no way of knowing whether or not the godless take advantage of us any more often than believers do? It's not like people announce to us, "Hey, i'm an atheist!" in daily life. Did you know that there is no evidence whatsoever that believers are better behaved than the godless? Are you aware that the godless are greatly *underrepresented* in US prisons?

Just because the godless don't follow *your* god's moral precepts doesn't mean that they have no morals at all.

Your last question shows just how bad your cognitive functioning is. WE DON'T BELIEVE THAT GOD EXISTS. How can we possibly believe that something that doesn't exist created Christians, Muslims, or robots?

A deity does not a moral person make. Many non-believers are immoral. So are many believers. If prison statistics are any indicator, the believers have a higher percentage of immoral in their midst. 12-18% of the general population are non-believers (atheist and agnostic). The rest follow some form of deity. Among the prison population less than 1% are non-believers. That means over 99% of those in prison believe in God. To me, that number is a clear cut indicator of where the moral deficiencies lie.

I don't know who you are talking about when you say "Godless" but I am going to assume you mean Atheists. If that is what you mean, then I only have one thing to say:

I would rather have an Atheist spouse, employee, friend, family member, than a Christian ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.

I find the majority of Christians to be more "Godless" than any Atheist I have ever encountered.

A Christian will gladly tell someone they are going to hell if they don't conform to what that particular Christian believes. An Atheist will gladly discuss religion and faith and God and his or her beliefs with honesty and without condemnation.

A few Christians have given you all a bad name and most of us non-Christians are tired of them. Instead of keeping my mouth shut, I will take every opportunity to expose them for what they are. Judgemental bigots who know no grace or mercy for anyone other than folks just like them.

I am neither shocked nor surprised when anyone takes advantage of me.

There are evil god-fearing people and evil godless people. There are also good god-fearing people and good godless people. So far I have not seen any correllation between the degree of belief and the degree of good or evil in a person.

The prisons in the US are filled with believers who believe in god but also believe that secular law doesn't totally apply to them. Whether they believe this because of or in spite of their god belief, I can't say. But faith is not a measure of goodness.

No, not a bit shocked, and it's not as if the Godless are the only ones to do harm to others. The prison population in the US, has only .02% nonbelievers, as opposed to at least 6%-10% in th population at large (depends on the survey). Does that tell you anything?

This Godless is a biological and social determinist, and doesn't believe in free will, and still lives a remarkably "moral" life. I don't need an imaginary god to tell me that certain actions could harm me and others, and are best avoided.

What do you suppose people did before religion came along? Do you think society was completely amoral? It might surprise you to know that it wasn't, and that law existed long before religion.

---Morality Is A Construct of Man---

We have all succumbed to the temptations of the worldly, --- and this has nothing to do with our 'morality' but,...
...rather, it lies in our inherent nature to pursue that which 'pleases' and flee from that which 'displeases':

In this,... we are born neither good nor evil:
We acquire such labels when we choose whether or not to follow those moral expectations that have been established in the societies which we interact with.

In his book HUMAN, ALL TOO HUMAN, Nietzsche writes:
"... No cruel man is SO cruel as he whom he has misused believes; the idea of pain is not the same thing as the suffering of it. The same applies to the unjust judge, to the journalist who misleads public opinion with petty untruths. Cause and effect are in all these cases surrounded by quite different groups of thoughts and sensations; while one involuntarily presupposes that doer and sufferer think and feel the same and, in accordance with this presupposition, assesses the guilt of the one by the pain of the other."

--- I agree with this...

If "anything goes" then that might be the case, but anything DOESN'T go. Non-believers have life rules, too. They just aren't based on YOUR imaginary friend. Anyone with a mental capacity above that of a twelve-year-old can understand that.
And speaking of being taken advantage of...NOBODY takes advantage of people in a worse way than churches and evangelists. The amount of money that believing suckers are sending to those charlatans is beyond comprehension. You get people who can barely feed themselves shipping their last dollars to evangelists who live in gigantic mansions and fly in private jets and ride around in limousines. It's pathetic.

LOL.

As a Godless person, it is interesting to note that no one takes advantage of me - Im too smart to allow it. No, its believers that are taken advantage of, by both fellow believers and non-beleivers.

And, if you think we need myths in order to have morals, you are highly mistaken. Obviously, someone has spread lies to your brain and taken advantage of your sensibilities, making you beleive that godless people live moral-less lives. So, you prove my point. Thanks.
