It means that since Jesus died and rose again, the Holy Spirit has been with us. He causes people to be born again and teaches truth about God in the heart of the individual. So the kingdom of God is actually here and all those born again are part of it. It will be revealed when Jesus comes back to take those who belong to Him, to His Kingdom.

God is working in heaven to prepare us for His Kingdom. It's in heaven, but we can't see it till we die and go there. No matter how far man travels, we can't ever find it. The only way to Heaven is to die [or be alive and Saved when the Rapture comes] So basically, just because we can't see it doesn't mean it's not there.

It would help if you cited the source for this.
Jesus stated a few times the kingdom was "near" or "among" them, yet they did not comprehend, seeing as they didn't understand what it meant.
Jesus was what was among them, and in a real sense, he is the kingdom. Yet he was not revealed to them as the prophesied messiah.

I am sure this is different than what most are taught.
The religious leaders of Jesus' time were looking for a physical kingdom, set up in the holy land as before, with boundaries and buildings and streets. Some are still looking for a a physical one that can be seen with the eyes, today.
John the Baptist, Jesus, and His disciples all preached it was at hand, before Christ's crucifixion, and then never again. When talking with the pharisees, this happened:
"Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, 'The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, "see here!" or "See there!" For indeed the kingdom of God is within you" (Luke 17:20,21).
At the same time, Jesus did teach that we should look for it--implying that it can be found: "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" (Matthew 6:33).
In Matthew 13:44-46, these parables were told by Jesus about finding the kingdom of heaven:
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it." Again, according to Jesus, it is worth looking for and it can be found.
The kingdom of heaven grows on earth, among those who are not in the kingdom, through the seed, or word of God being sown. Read all of Matthew 13 and the parables. There are several others, too.
In Romans 14:17, it says, "for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." The kingdom of heaven on earth is all over the earth. It is a spiritual kingdom made up of people.
1 Corinthians 4:20 says, "For the kingdom of heaven is not in word but in power." Perhaps the power to change lives, or even much more. Each will have to determine that on their own.
When a person is saved, that is also when he or she is placed into this spiritual kingdom: "He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed (or transferred) us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:13,14).
1 Corinthians 15:24,25 says this about the kingdom and the end:
"Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts and end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet."
Christ is already reigning over His kingdom. No longer was "repent for the kingdom of heaven is hand" ever preached after Jesus ascended into heaven. Acts 2:30-32 says this:
"Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up Christ to sit on His throne, he, forseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses" (Peter preach the gospel for the first time after Christ ascended into heaven).
The kingdom of heaven on earth is not a physical place, or land with boundaries, or filled with buildings. It is difficult for many to think of the kingdom in spiritual terms. People today are still waiting for it, thinking it will be visibly seen and landing on the earth--that's another view.
Well, that is what I believe is taught in Scripture. It is up to each individual to decide for him or her self.
Dave.

The Kingdom of God is hidden from our vision to protect you, for if you see the kingdom then you will die.
For your protection and sanity.
