No,however, though we must each hold fast to our personal convictions,we should as adults,be able to share and learn from each other with respect one to another......Respect means to consider the worth of another human being and to even honor each other as a creation of God(from my perspective)......To think that there will never be any sparks, even with the best of intentions,is non-sequitur.

"Wherever they be they can never agree "
Jubal and Tubal Cain: Rudyard Kipling.

There *can* be civilized debate rather than bickering,
but on the whole the bad practices of debate: insults and straw men, unsupported assumptions and exaggerated statements, fall too easily to hand for too many... on every side.

But agreement? No. There is an absolute divide between a universe that has a deity in it, and one that doesn't. No room at all for everyone to be right.

I think respectful debate is actually good stimulation for both sides of the argument. The thing with religious debates is that humans are to the point where they've got nearly too much time on their hands.

We're living to be 100, retiring in the 50s and 60s, and able to spend more time doing things we enjoy or pursuing knowledge.

With so many people on the planet, too, it's hard to find someone who doesn't disagree with you on SOMETHING, especially if it's about an ideal, honor, or a strong emotion they care about greatly...which is why people are so willing to die for their children, their religion, and love.

I'm assuming your question was rhetorical. Someday the theists and non-theists here on this board will realize that they're united by their lack of intelligence. Then they will put down their beers and become friends

Yes, there will definitely be such a time:

Isa 45:23-24
23 By myself I have sworn,
my mouth has uttered in all integrity
a word that will not be revoked:
Before me every knee will bow;
by me every tongue will swear.
24 They will say of me, 'In the LORD alone
are righteousness and strength.'"
All who have raged against him
will come to him and be put to shame.
(from New International Version)

Phil 2:9-11
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
(from New International Version)

Some just won't like it.

For it is written: As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow to Me, and every tongue will give praise to God.

Nah. Even if there wsan't religion in the world, we'd still wind up finding something to fight about. I've seen South Park. I know what I'm talking about.
