the shariah laws were invoked some 200 years after the prophet Mohamhed's( respect ) death and often they contradict the Qu'ran itself. The laws invoked that directly contradict the Qu'ran are the laws that deal with marriage, divorce, apostasy, adultery, stealing and aggression in conversion and the subtle coersions that go on here in Q$A.
if you don't believe me, check what the Qu'ran says about the above issues.

Current examples are Abdul Rahman in Afghanistan, Ahmadiyya in Pakistan and Bangladesh, Raped Muslim woman in Nigeria, Nazanin Fatehi in Iran and to top it off, the Saudi clerics who have issued the fatwa that Shia's are not Muslims.

my bf and i have been going through a rough patch where he has been quite distant. I got soo annoyed that i sent him an e-mail to break up with him because trying to get him to talk was getting me nowhere.

He's just called and has told me that he thinks it was sad of me to break-up with him via e-mail and i explained to him how i was frustrated about him not talking and just needed to walk away because i have exams right now.

He told me that he's been meaning to talk to me and was waiting after exams. He said that the fact that we are different religions (he's muslim and i'm not) has been on his mind, and his parents are very strict. He wanted to talk about it in person. When i asked if he still wants to do that he said not right now.

My exams finish soon, if we do talk about it, would should i say? my parents won't agree with him either but i can't make him fight. is this a dead-end?.. plz help i'm soo confused - am i wrong in how i think and by sending that email?

I have been reading for some time now that John Travolta and Kelly Preston have a 15 year old autistic boy. I have read that they do not have him treated at all and they just give him vitamins. He is kept hidden. They refer to their little girl as a "princess" yet never discuss the boy. If he truly is autistic, then they could bring attention to this awful disease that is affecting so many of our children. Why would they be ashamed. I am told that scientology does not accept autism. If all this is true, then that is very said and John Travolta should be ashamed of himself. What kind of a religion is Scientology to treat a child this way? I know nothing about this religion, does anyone have any information?

Hi dear friends, I pray that you are all doing well today. And if you are an unbeliever and you are reading this, please know I bear no ill will toward you and hope you are having a good day as well. I wanted to share these verses with you all in hopes that they would bring some encouragment.
One of my most favorite verses is in Galations and was written by the Apostle Paul. He says, " If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ" Galations 1:10
What does this tell all of us? As Christians, we are not here to please other people, we are here to please Christ. I have to tell you, to me that really puts things into perspective. And I know that Christians really take a lot of heat. But, if we go over to Hebrews we read,
" The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What shall man do to me" Hebrews 13:5-6
How awesome is that, dear friends? We have no reason to be fearful or intimidated. The Lord is our helper.
I have to tell you,

A sychophant is generally defined as a self-seeking flatterer, most commonly known as a "yes-man." Sychophantism is the case where sychophancy is encouraged by both the person(s) acting as sychophants and the person(s) receiving support from sychophants.

I come from a very right-wing conservative Christian family. I used to accept everything they taught me, but once I started going to college and moved out, I've become more open-minded. I've explored other religions like Buddhism, Islam, and Wicca, and I came to the conclusion that religion is a man-made thing and that if there is a higher power, we as finite human beings can't possibly begin to explain it or understand it.

I guess this makes me an agnostic. But my family doesn't know about this. I've been coming to church less and they constantly nag me every week wanting to see me there on Sunday. The church we attend is very small and close-knit, and in that sense also very dramatic and you can't keep secrets from anyone. I feel guilty taking Communion because I don't believe Christianity is the only way anymore.

I want to tell them the truth but I don't know how. I know it will break their hearts and they'll worry about the upbringing of my daughter. Any advice?
