the "and stuff" is they say ok to homosexuality and they say ok to premarital sex and they say ok to abortion and euthanasia.

This is a problem that lies mainly with those denominations that are stuck with Sola Scritura. Inconsistencies are inevitable when all you have is a multi-thousand year old book instead of both it AND a living tradition.

Hi Midge,I believe the problem is rooted in the fact that only the Pope and Bishops united to him have the authority to interpret the Gospels and they are guided in this by the Holy Spirit,this ensures that no error of teaching can ever take place, those outside the church have neither authority nor guidance and so we see many different translations and also manipulation of the Gospels and sacred scripture.

stuff??? Women preachers are spoken of in the bible, women pastors are not. There is a difference. Any one can preach the gospel, but the qualifications of a preacher are very definate as laid out by Paul to Timothy in first Timothy.

What is "and stuff"
The bible is just a set of writings, changed, added to subtracted copied and mis copied, and is more or less the musings, folklore and history of a stone age group of starving shepherds call the Tribe of Isreal in the Middle East. There were lots of those. They copied things from Egypt, as well as Babylon..... We more or less inherited theirs....

Too many people base their beliefs on what they have been told about the Bible and don't read it for themselves. If they read the Bible, they would be able to discern what is right or wrong.
