Regardless of the religion you follow, think about it for a minute...

If everyone lived by that code, the world would be a much better place. Do you agree?

or at least why it would be impossible for any of us to experience or enjoy it.....

Ok stick with me on this. God created us as human beings. But he didn't want us to be his robots so he gave us free-will, and because of this free-will we have the option to sin.

If we repent our sins and accept God whilst we are on Earth, we will be rewarded with an eternity in Heaven when our body dies. Now this is what I don't get...

Wouldn't we still have the ability to choose sin in Heaven? If yes, then doens't this mean that Heaven by definition cannot possibly exist?

Or does it mean that we have no free-will in Heaven, making us robots so we would not experience anything?

I'm married to the most wunderful woman I've ever met.
We have three beautiful children. I've got a great job and am lucky enough to be my own boss. When I'm not working, my wife and I are playing with the kids or painting, or renovating our house or bushwalking among many other activities.

Hardly a sad and empty existence.

As atheists, we are aware that we have to make the most of every day.

I grew up a catholic, and to me, religious life is far more empty as it prevents you from being able to appreciate just how pevileged we are to be alive.

Atheism allows you to appreciate that how special and unique this world we live in is.

While I'm sure there are others worlds out there brimming with life, the odds are that it will have evolved quite differently.

Isn't it sad that theists miss out on realising just how special life is?

It must be sad to have such empty lives because of their faith.

I just read an answer that basically said "There is 0 proof that God doesn't exists, therefore he exists".

So here's your challenge. Without resorting to "there's not proof that he doesn't exist", give some evidence that your god exists.

Additionally, please tell me why your god exists but all the other gods that "existed" previously are now considered fictional.

Cheers.

Since they dont believe in the supernatural shouldnt they be asking their questions in the science section? Once in a while I think that some are looking for answers and understanding on religion, but those cases are rare.

Seriously. For example, a lot of Christian creationists will go on about how everything in the Bible is literal (despite much of it being metaphorical and even self-described as parables) yet when it comes to Jesus and believing they will go into excessively non-literal mode and describe how you "need to open/soften your heart to let Jesus in".

So should this actually be taken literally (actually cleave open my heart) or does it mean something else. Why don't they just say "believe in Jesus"? That's surely what it means right?

This place is not run by muslims, it is unbiased, and it's stating facts. What do you think of them?

http://www.personal.psu.edu/faculty/j/a/jab63/islam.facts.html

6. Contrary to popular belief in the West, jihad is not one of the five pillars of Islam.

7. In the West, the concept of jihad has been improperly translated as 'holy war.' Instead, jihad means 'struggle' and refers, in particular, to the personal struggle that every Muslim engages in to live a peaceful and good life.

8. One of the basic precepts of Islam is the equality of all people regardless of race, ability, or gender.

9. Muslims believe that there is no compulsion in religion and that individuals are free to choose their own religion and beliefs.

10. The Qu'ran (a.k.a. Koran) accepts religious pluralism as a fact of life and sees strength in diversity.

The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: “The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.”—(1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.

Ok, I'm not married, so if I have a lust for someone and they have a lust for me and we have passionate safe sex with each other, whats God's problem?

I am happy, my sexual partner is happy.

It doesn't involve any 'impure thoughts' because our only thoughts are of (yes lust, but my point is that lust isnt bad) happiness and enjoyment.

Does God not want me to be happy? Or does he want me to have HIS version of happiness, like a parent forcing a kid to do sports so they can live their own dreams through their child?

Which of these is of your opinion to be more correct:

1) "Anything is possible until proven impossible."

2) "Everything is impossible until proven possible."

These sound a little extreme, let me reword them:

1) "Anything is possible except that which we know is impossible."

2) "Everything that we know is possible is possible, anything else is improbable until proven possible or impossible."

What say you?

Islam contributed so much, but gets no credit. Why is this?

Arab contributions to human civilization are noteworthy. In mathematics, they write digits from right to left and they were the first people to introduce the Zero that allowed major mathematical breakthroughs. Al-khawarzmi was the first to solve algebra equations of the 1st and the 2nd degree. Also, Al-karaki developed an approximate method of finding square roots, theory of indices, theory of mathematical induction, and theory of intermediate quadratic equations. On the other hand, Nasseredine Al-Tusi separated trigonometry from astronomy which recognizes and explains weakness in Euclid’s theory of parallels. As a result, he was the founder of non-Euclidian geometry. In astronomy, they used to chart time of sunrises and sunsets to determine the period of fasting during Ramadan and they were able to determine the length of degree, to establish the longitude and latitude, to investigate the speed of sound and light.

It really blows me away that god-believers, (mostly Christians but Muslims are getting just as good at this,) are so ready to make up hiding places for their creation.

If you ask why he can't be seen, they will tell you he is like the wind... or he is a mist... or he is everywhere but invisible... My favorite of late is: He is outside the time/space continumm, and therefore his reality is not the same as our reality.

Good gosh... What's next?

I mean, the whole story sounds silly and illogical.
Why didn't God descend Jesus to earth, like he ascended him to the sky? Did he really. This mythology was made up according to the jewish culture then, when adultery was seen as a majir sin. I can't believe there are people in the 21st century who still believe this story. I'm amazed! Seems like most people are mythology lovers.
