I'm thinking about just giving up being gay, because I know from your responses that I woke up one day and chose to be gay. So, today I've decided I'll just go straight. Which one of you eligible christian women would like to date me? Let me tell you a bit about me. My favorite color is pink. I love love love stuffed animals and my favorite movie is Beaches. I love to shop. I have a slight lisp, and some of my friends think I have a limp wrist at times, but I don't think so. I drive a chevy malibu, I know that will impress the ladies! Plus, my mom taught me how to crochet and cross stitch. Those are my favorite hobbies. Also, sometimes I like to go bowling. I'm not any good at other sports. Other sports are boring anyway. Oooo ooo! If we get serious, I bet your parents would love me, because I love to talk a lot. Especially about decorating, and cooking. Hit me up if you want to be my girlfriend....thanks and god bless!

If so! All I can say is Go to it! Because they Bible tells us that a friend of the World is an enemy with God.

Matthew 24:14 Jesus says; And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a "witness" unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

When we consider that over two thousands years ago, many nations, including the North and South America, were not yet discovered. In this, it is remarkable, that Jesus made such a declaration.

But, only since the 1980's have the fulfillment of this prophecy been possible, through the deployment of global communication satellites, and other communication technology, the gospel is indeed now being preached to every nation.

So, go a head with your thumbs down. Little did you know that the evidence is being gather, for Judgment Day, and your very on words will be the Witness Against You.

There is that scripture in the Bible that says "God hath chosen the foolish things of this world to confound the wise", but honestly, does that mean that Christians have to so proudly display their lack of education?

Care to answer this one "myshieldisgod"?(See, Jack can play that game, too!)

First of all, I think Theists are missing the definition of a "Revelation". A Revelation is specifically defined as " A divine disclosure of something relating to human existence". Now, let us reexamine the Bible as an example. The authors and editors of the Bible merely claim to have had these pieces of information of human existence revealed to them. Although one would expect that one should prepare a substantial amount of evidence to support such a claim, none of the Gospels or Revelations come with any of the latter. On top of that, the zealous followers who feverishly read these Revelations are not receiving this knowledge directly from a direct source, but rather an unknown (and rather questionable) one, further categorizing the term "Revelation" as a misnomer.

So what do we classify these "Revelations" as? A rumor. A circulating story of doubtful truth spread by an unverified account, qualities which the Bible fall rather neatly into.

In my opinion, religion is nothing more than a widespread urban legend that has withstood the test of time.
However, I do hold respect for it's believers, as they are entitled to their peculiar beliefs as much as I am entitled to my conviction that God does not exist in any form claimed by humanity. Does anyone else share this sentiment towards religion and religious people?

How do you feel about the judgmental attitude of fundamentalists? I posed a question earlier about a friend who died and was saddened by the heartlessness of fundamentalists. I think they drown out the voices of the christians who are loving and see Jesus as loving, caring and compassionate, how do you feel about them when you hear their vitriol and hate? I'm curious

The palestinians are dying and fear death in their evevryday of life. What kind of life is that? The 7 year old son loses his mum and cries with her blood on his face.. would anyone care to look after him... NO and what do many ignorant people say or ask WHY ARE MUSLIMS TERRORISTS... its like you let a your guest stay in your house for 2 days and the 3rd day he kicks you out of your own house and demands its his house and when you go in with a knife threatening him to go out he calls you a TERRORIST.. How fair is that... brothers and sisters i dont know why many of the people are still blinded like this.. Women are being raped in prisons thinking they've tried to do suicide bombing ... where on earth did rape come from... The iraqi's are dying... OKAY maybe one or two are idiotic people killing people in the name of ISLAM but how does that include all the muslims.. No one blames christianity for hitler killing 6 million jews.

I belong to a christian family. All my family members believe in God. I also want to believe but find it difficult. I need more proof than books and words to know God is really there. What should I do? Am I wrong not to have faith in God?

Something that they knew was indisputable, would they destroy it, if they had the chance, before anyone got wind of it, and still cling to their faith?

Would they deny its existence?

Or would they share it with the world and renounce their faith?

Even those who are deep into religion and have deep faith in god.... suffer (Paramhansa suffered due to throat cancer, Swami dayanad was poisoned.....Jesus was beaten mercilessly and crucified. Shankrayachaarya suffered from dreaded illness)

This isn't the only one. I've had people tell me that zebra's stripe also prove god's intelligent artistic touch, and refer me to "Ask the animals and they will teach you" - Job, some random chapter/verse.

"Nothing is more humbling than to look with a strong magnifying glass at an insect so tiny that the naked eye sees only the barest speck and to discover that nevertheless it is sculpted and articulated and striped with the same care and imagination as a zebra. Apparently it does not occur to nature whether or not a creature is within our range of vision, and the suspicion arises that even the zebra was not designed for our benefit."
-Rudolf Arnheim

No offense or anything but I've noticed most (( not all, but a large percentage)) of Atheists that I've met in real life and the internet seem to spend a huge amount of their time talking about a God they believe doesn't exist. They often bash God, tease him/her/it and try to convince others that he doesn't exist.
I don't think this makes any sense. Most people don't believe unicorns exist but you don't see us going " LOL, THAT STUPID UNICORN CAN KISS MY BUTT!"

I've also noticed a lot that atheists attempt to convince religious folk that their beliefs are illegit and foolish but when the religious people retaliate, or simply state their beliefs, it's suddenly, " Oh-Em-Gee! That Christian/Jew/Buddhist/Muslim/Whatever is forcing their beliefs on me!"

So please answer this. It confuses me quite a bit.

Do you ever think about the consequences of preaching hell and damnation? Do you ever feel guilt for the misery you cause to young, indoctrinated people? I had a beautiful friend who committed suicide because he was a gay christian (its not a choice), it's the worlds loss that this kind, sweet human being is no longer here. The people who repeatedly told him he was an abomination, and preached hellfire and damnation took his life. To those who do, how do you feel about doing this to another human being?

God made you for a reason, he also decided when you would be born and how long you would live. He planned the days of your life in advance, choosing the exact time of your birth and death. The Bible says, "You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your book!" [Psalm 139:16]

God plans abortions and rape pregnancy victims is also part of Gods plan- right?
