In my opinion, religion is nothing more than a widespread urban legend that has withstood the test of time.
However, I do hold respect for it's believers, as they are entitled to their peculiar beliefs as much as I am entitled to my conviction that God does not exist in any form claimed by humanity. Does anyone else share this sentiment towards religion and religious people?

If you have no respect for one thing I begin to question what you do have respect for and why... To say that you dont have any respect for anything is to say you do not value/love it at all. I have come to the understanding and realization that there is love/value in all things created in this universe by itself or by Gods hand. Religion has had a huge roll in helping to get humanity out of the stone ages so to speak. What you speak of is respect for relgions believers yet you deni there values as having worth. You are not saying the same things imo.

I am not a religion fan myself but I also understand why other people are to some degree and this understanding stops me from saying I have no respect for there belief systems. I have had good experiences with religion believers and bad ones but for the most part they are people like me. They make mistakes and so do I so I give them my forgiveness in the hope that I will get some back. IF you want to sound wise you must talk about love and not hate so may I suggest that if one of your goals in life is to be look at as a wise person try to uplift things and not bring them down. I hope you took my advice and critz with an open mind and reject or accept learn and understand and act upon what was.

So why do you think this scripture is in the Bible?
(Romans 1:20) For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable;

And;

(2 Peter 3:3-7) For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires 4 and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.” 5 For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice, that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; 6 and by those [means] the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water. 7 But by the same word the heavens and the earth that are now are stored up for fire and are being reserved to the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly men.

Seems like God knew you were coming.

Well, Cat...it's more a matter of "use" than "respect."

As long as the aggressive, charismatic wing nuts stay out of my face and personal space, Ithey can conduct whatever weird group frenzy turns them on. Group singing, recitation, prayer does nothing for me.

I can feel "spiritual" weeding my garden or paddling my canoe; I don't need churches or group bonding.

And I'll always love this quote from Dennis Miller:

"It seems that religion is most often the backboard for every bank shot put up by someone making it their business to get into your business."

I would not go that far that I do not have no respect for Religion. Christianity is really a relationship with God. God is real. I understand that when you do not have this life saving relationship, it is hard to believe He exists.

i'm truly uncertain, You advance MJ, properly in case you probably did no longer recognize yet MJ had a significant injury his 2nd or third 365 days interior the NBA and MJ missed most of the seaon and got here returned and administration did no longer decide on him to come back returned yet he did. I deliver this up because of the fact it exhibits you the version between MJ and Rose. Now I do comprehend a participant no longer desirous to to omit yet another season because of the fact of reinjuring themselves yet whilst it truly is the case then Rose would desire to take yet another 365 days off basically to be genuinely effective. Now that I reported all that, Rose had a truthful volume of injury throughout his short NBa profession and consistent with threat this is the real clarification why he desperate to no longer play to make effective his physique is completely healed yet what i do in comparison to approximately all of it truly is that followers pay money to verify him, he's getting paid mucho money to play and the gang desires to win a championship and that i do no longer see them prevailing this 365 days besides, i do think of they are near to a championship and Rose on no account help them this 365 days. So I kinda lost somewhat admire because of the fact on the top of the day, he replaced into cleared to play, he's employed to play basketball and followers pay their complicated make money to verify a stable product on the floor and the Bulls performed properly without Rose, however the product is greater valuable with him. I deep down have self belief between the clarification why Rose did no longer play this 365 days has something to do with them playing the warmth. Rose against Lebron. Rose on the same time as playing against Lebron it being with the warmth or the Cavs have not beat Lebron and that i think of interior the returned of his strategies he did no longer decide directly to come back returned and could face the warmth and lose.

Your statement is so vague. It is like saying "I have absolutely no respect for television". Religion comes in a vast range of forms, just like TV does. Some of it may be pernicious, but surely not all of it? Which bit of it do you mean?

you respect them..even if you stated that you hold no respect for its believers..we all have times when we want to vent..but to put ALL believers in the same category is as fair as putting all unbelievers in the same category..

believe me..my church does not go out of it's way trying to convert anyone...you either believe or don't believe and we don't twist anyone arm to come to church or to attend our Bible study...it is a very small church but we are not fanatics and respect all people whether they believe as we do or not.

most people join organizations and churches for various reasons..some because their parents attended and others for sociability..but some because they are true believers and just want a place to worship and study His word with fellow believers.

I have no respect for religion, but there are many people I admire and respect who believe in a religion.

Agreed- wholeheartedly. That's why I have gone outside the catagory of religion (man made stuff) - to instead search for "Truth". There- I found Biblical Christianity-- not man's search to placate God... but God's searching out and saving of fallen man. What a difference that difference makes!
