If you believe all other religions are false because that is what your belief system states,
or that every religion is false because you are an atheist,
than pretend I asked 'Say something good about some of the false religions?'
Please give this some thought, and reply maturely. I'd like to hear what people have to say. Thank you in advance.

I don't know why but I'm just getting this feeling tonight like a lot of Atheists here think all religious people, no matter what the religion, and no matter who they are, are stupid, or at least not as smart as non-religious people.

I am not a Muslim, but I don't think Muslims are stupid. I don't think Atheists are stupid, nor Christians, nor any group of people like that.

In the future, what if the God believers end up being remembered as the less evolved humans?

Imagine students saying, "Humans were stupid back then"

The current theory that best explains how the human species came to exist as it does on earth is:

A) Evolution via natural selection
B) Aliens seeding
C) Germ theory
D) Intelligent Design

Are you going to honestly sit there are say you'd choose anything other than A?

Does the phrase, "cut off your nose to spite your face" mean anything.

(Remember, your god will take note your greed... millionaire)

Has anyone ever changed their view point based on a posted answer?

Or is it just really a fight and nobody will dare succumb to thinking maybe they were not wrong.
I find humility a scarce commodity.

The only posts are worthy of reading are athiests who do not come to bash religion [pointless] or agnostics who just don't know and suppose.
Christian nutters who even fight amongst themselves and thumb down even scripture are just too weird.
If you believe then act like you do. As for some athiests I don't know why they need to run their beliefs over to people who think there is a God. I mean don't you already accuse of religion being crammed down your throat yet seek out religious forums?

What happened to seperation of church and state? Christians do not just enter into a "marriage contract" we call it Holy Matrimony.I feel that we have failed in this area by allowing man to tamper with this sacred union.Divorce is common and now we even have same sex marriages. How far will this go on before Christians seperate themselves from this evil and go back to the Wedding Feast of God were Jesus can turn the water into wine, Holy Matrimony?

I'm compiling a list of all the scriptural verses that support Trinitarian doctrine, and comparing them against all of those that support Non-Trinitarianism. So far, my research seems to weigh heavily toward Non-Trinitarianism, so I'm trying to find more verses from the Bible in support of the Trinity.

Please, anyone who believes firmly that God is a Trinity, share with me all the scriptural verses you can that support this doctrine (if you want to just list the references, that's fine; I can look each of them up). You may highlight the ones that you feel provide the strongest evidence for this doctrine.

Thank you.

I find that some religious folk tend to answer questions that have nothing to do with Jesus or religion by throwing their words of worship into answers. I've seen many questions regarding "Who, among those you have met, do you feel closest to/love most/trust innately?" So many of the answers are "Jesus", and I find that the people who purposely ignore the intention of the question ("Someone you have MET") are often the most extreme religiously.

I believe that extremists are so insecure in their beliefs they have to repeatedly, loudly, and unreasonably state their "love" of God/Jesus over & over.

As a follow-up to my question, let's try it again: Who in your life do you love and trust most, that you've actually MET? (Living or dead).

Someone said that atheists make up about 1% of american population (hard to believe). If this is true why do they have so much say so in politics?

If they were THAT small then no one would listen to them

As a very little example to explain what freedom of religion is: Pure freedom of religion doesn't mean one particular god on a Pledge, it means all gods and no god on a Pledge.

When it comes to the western world, Christianity is the majority religion. In this R&S section I see all sorts of minority religions (Pagans, Wiccans, Buddhists, etc, etc) and atheist complain about the lack of real freedom of religion.

I also see many Christians claim even more rights for their majority god. This claim is made under the name of 'freedom of religion'.

As with every freedom, my freedom ends where yours starts, and vice versa. That's the basis of Freedom.

Being a member of a majority religion, does a Christian ever really stop and wonder what freedom of religion implies?

...Especially in questions where they make no sense?

Like Sawyer, I have asked this question before. The number of 'Jesus' responses I got were overwhelming. I too made it clear that "people you haven't met" (like Jesus) weren't included in the question. I am happy that you love Jesus! Wonderful. But why not answer the actual question? Some of you may feel you 'know' Jesus but none of you have actually met him.

Is it because some people are afraid that they might be wrong about their religion? Is it because they don't trust their own ideas? I believe it has become a defense mechanism.

My friends are mostly Christian which comes as no surprise since most Americans are. When they ask me about my beliefs, they act so surprised when I say I'm an atheist. They act like I just murdered someone. They ask, "HOW COULD YOU NOT BELIEVE IN GOD." I don't believe in God for the same reason most Christians believe in God. I was raised an atheist. My father was an atheist and my mother was an agnostic. Most Christians had Christian parents and therefore they are Christian. Even when I give the "my parents were athiests" answer, they still act confused. What gives????

Should a woman's head be covered when she is in Church? Or is it an outdated, irrelevant teaching? Do you practice it today? Here's the passage:

1 Corinthians 11:4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.

1 Corinthians 11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

1 Corinthians 11: 6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

1 Corinthians 11: 7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

1 Corinthians 11:8 For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.

1 Corinthians 11:9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

1 Corinthians 11:10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

I am not asking this to be sarcastic. I'm really wondering. Tom Cruise gave Brooke Shields grief for taking medicine for post-partum depression. He stated his beliefs regarding medicine as a scientologist. I was just wondering, how is it that they had a test tube baby? Wouldn't that require doctors and medical treatments? Isn't that something that isn't considered natural? I'm just curious how that fits in the guidelines and it is okay for him. Does anyone know?
