If he dies in this he will.
It sounds to me (if you are for real) that he is controlled by Satan.
Those who are demon possessed find pleasure in death and destruction. Your friend reminds me of the book of Mark chapter 5. The man who was devil possessed who lived among the graves. I'm not saying your friend is exactly like that but rather this is somewhat similar. He needs to be delivered.
This kind of thing will more than likely progress, because devils do not stop. The more he allows them to work the more they will control him. He very well could wind up naked in a grave yard like the man in the Bible. I have known of that kind of thing happening before. What the experts call mental illness, in a case like this, is demon possession. They are right, but they do not know what really causes this. Because they do not understand the spirit world.
Your friend can be forgiven and delivered. He needs to go to a church that believes in the power of the Holy Ghost. I would suggest the pentecostal type.

The Bible says in John 3:26 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
The Bible also says in Roman 9:9&10, That
whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Your friends do not have to go to hell, if the accept Jesus as their saviour

James 4:4 Adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God. In this Scripture, world refers to people, in particular, people alienated from God. It's comparable to John 3:16 which says that God loves the world so much, that he sent his only-begotten Son. Well, world in this Scripture means people alienated from God not the earth same as James 4:4. 1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits.

So, let me get this straight, he enjoys watching disaster? Well, I suppose that is quite sinful. I'm not sure which faith you are but I'm Catholic. I can't tell you if it's venial or mortal sin, if it's mortal he MUST confess. If he does't he'll die in a state of mortal sin and go straight to hell. If it's venial than there are other things you can do besides confession. I suggest you talk to him about going to confession anyway.

While this is repugnant, and your friend should seek the help of a qualified professional, the only unforgivable sin is the rejection of the Holy Spriit; or the rejection of Jesus Christ as the Son of The Living God.

not if He asks Jesus to be His Savior, and repent of ALL his sins- this though is very disturbing. He needs help before he starts acting out something terrible and hurts other people.

No but call a psychologist. And be careful.
Hell doesn't exist, but believers in hell are more dangerous than the concept of it.

Not if he repents and stops doing this, however I would suggest he gets help because this is not a normal practice and shows signs of a mental problem.
