When we Muslims refer to a man as 'prophet', we mean something completely different than what Christians mean as 'prophet'?

A prophet in Islamic sense: is a man who has been chosen to be the messenger of God on earth, they are given the responsibility of leading stray people from darkness into light, they are chosen before they were conceived, they have come through in all ages and times, to set an example of morality and behaviour, they are chosen from among the nations they are sent to, and are fully human in order for their followers to relate to them. They are guided and always aided by angels, and are pure, subject to error, but incapable of sin, like children. Their numbers are limited and theyre all the same infront of God.

That being said, to a Muslim, no human can ever come close to God, as a Prophet can, theyre just not normal people, completely loved and chosen by God.

Oh and yes they are aided by miracles by the Power of God and not through their own doing.
