how do you explain the existence of the mind? Not just a functioning brain or memory, but a mind that allows us to think as individuals and not just act on instinct. Modern theories, based on a scientific understanding of the brain, see the mind as a phenomenon of psychology, and the term is often used more or less synonymously with consciousness. I personally believe that the mind is the part of the soul that makes our soul individual and separate.

I'm a new Christian. I have read the New Testament several times and several books written by some well known pastors, but whenever I tried to read the OT, I fell into sleep. Yesterday I downloaded an audio Bible from the internet and listened to it after dinner. This time, I didn't feel sleepy. I listened to Genesis and were touched by the stories of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. All of a sudden, the OT became an interesting book.You can download it here: http://www.audiotreasure.com/
If you have a MP3 player, you can listen to it anywhere, anytime. You need a "download manager" to download a huge audio file like that. Many "download manager" softwares are free to download on the internet. Download one from a reliable website (watch out the viruses) and install it on your computer before downloading the Bible.

The Unitarian Church is currently the primary organ of support for gay marriage. The Episcopalian,Presbyterian,and Lutheran Churches have always been strong supporters of gay rights. Where did this idea get started that Christians are "against" gay rights when we've consistently been it's strongest supporters? When did tv evangelists supposedly acquire authority over the majority denominations? News to me. Do you think there might be better sources of gays & Christianity than tv? You know - like a library,maybe? Not to make an atheist throw up by suggesting he/she actually read a book...

Halloween, All Saint's Eve, and the original (Pagan) Samhuinn (Celtic in origin) are considered a Holiday.

How many school decorate their classrooms for Halloween?
If these were Christian church decorations in the classrooms (like a nativity or the Cross), WHOA! We'd hear an outcry!! Look out for all the law suits!

Look in the classrooms and hallways. Do you see Christian symbols on the walls during other holidays like you see symbols at Halloween?

Do the schools have Halloween AND Christmas AND Easter parties?

What other holiday is mandated and regulated in the school system like Halloween.?

Christian parents should be bold enough to insist that if God must leave the public school... so must every other religion...

I've heard the pope "got rid of limbo"
I've heard the pope Pardoned the unbaptised babies
and I've heard the pope announced they "don't know what happens to unbaptised babies after they die but don't think they go to limbo"

I know a lot of people have asked this question, but I'm still confused.

As an agnostic, I wouldn't be offended if someone called agnosticism any of the above. I'm not saying agnosticism and atheism ARE religions . . . I guess I'm not really sure what I'd classify them as. But I've always referred to them as a belief systems.

I need labels here, folks! :D
