First, Jesus stated to Peter and the Apostles what you carry certain in the worldwide would be certain in heaven and what you carry loosed in the worldwide would be loosed in heaven. This fact by way of Jesus is the muse for the Authority of the Apostles. Limbo became right into a theological build that defined what surpassed off to babies or sturdy people who weren't baptized in an attempt to describe what surpassed off to their souls and reconcile it to Jesus' own teachings approximately baptism and salvation. save in mind that even the Apostle Peter, preeminent between each and all of the apostles, the Apostle who's constantly stated first whilst 2 or extra Apostles are stated interior the comparable sentence, even he stated that a number of Paul's teachings are stressful to understand. All expertise did no longer come tot he Apostles or the Church unexpectedly. As new circumstances ensue the Church would desire to study adn respond. Our Church isn't in accordance with a static e book which some think of has the reply to each question the Universe can pose, our church is in accordance with those teachings yet is alive and growing to be, gaining knowledge of and training. The Pope has each and every dazzling to alter a coaching on a topic count alongside with Limbo. It has each and every dazzling to regulate its information and training if no Pope has spoken on the priority ex-cathedra, and that they on no account did.

He didn't ABOLISH Limbo. The Church, in the past, was just trying to come up with a non offensive doctrine about where babies go if they were not baptized and the thing with Limbo was more a theory than true Doctrine. It had never been stated absolutely and so now it has been taken off the suggestion list is all.

Actually, I know for a fact that it is not abolished because when I was in elementary school, we all played limbo to see who gets to be the teachers helper. I never won because even then, I was too manly for limbo. You know what, if the pope is going to abolish any game, i think he should do away with Twister... that game is too sexy for its own good. Oh, and wife swapping, but thats not a game really, more of a lifestyle for old perverts.

When are you people going to realize that it is God that decides what happens to the souls of ALL people, and not the pope, who is only another man? He cannot create a limbo, or do away with it. Catholics have a skewed understanding of things.

Good grief. Limbo as never an official church teaching, only a speculation.
And it wasn't in Brazil that he said it. No, I do not have the link the story.
