There are certain rhythms that can have psychological as well as physical effects. Almost every drummer know that you beat a rhythm at about 68 beats per minute, most people's heart rate will modify to approximate that. By varying the beat, faster or slower, the drummer can excite or calm the audience.

Preachers use this same phenomena to transfix their audience and use constant repetition to implant their ideas in to the lulled minds. The idea is to bypass the normal censors of the conscious mind so that the presented ideas seem like something that one as known "always" and is obviously true.

Hypnosis? I'm not sure, but the effect is very similar.

Oh, yes, it can have a hypnotic effect. Or sometimes just a soporific effect. My daddy used to sleep through most of the church service every week, to the point where Mama stopped forcing him to go to church. He snored too loud.

In addition to the reading of biblical texts, many ministers are very adept at hypnotic effects in their sermons. Also, they do learn rhetorical devices, psychological devices and so on in seminary schools.

It's just part of the job, you know. They don't consider it unfair manipulations, the way you or I might.

Sin is Sin, whether its homosexuality or no longer its all sin. All sin must be repented for. i do no longer likely understand why human beings bounce on Homosexuality as a extensive sin, i've got faith its in simple terms as undesirable as any of the others. I easily have sinned, so i do no longer think of i'm from now on helpful interior the eyes of God then the homosexuals. to disclaim what they are doing to be a sin, is the place they get in difficulty with God. every person has organic needs to do sinful issues, in the event that they did no longer there may well be no sin. It takes artwork to suppress those desires. Homosexuals can inherit gods kingdom in the event that they repent for each gay act. God will forgive each and every time. i've got faith god is familiar with the subject of the temptation and thanks to this he promises forgiveness. The bible talks approximately how those human beings are not going to inherit God's kingdom so they understand what they are in a position to do to alter that. The previous testomony is previous, and extremely distinctive from the recent testomony. As somebody mentions the "He who's with out sin solid the 1st stone" no person is with out sin, no person would desire to be stoning anybody. As a christian, i do get disappointed with Christians that stress their ideals on human beings. I recommend, there are not any rules against premarital intercourse, besides the shown fact that that's a sin. Many Christians and non Christians have had premarital intercourse, why are not they being dealt with the comparable way? in fact i responded this question because of the fact i needed you to observe how usually interior the bible does it point out Homosexuality, how usually does it point out different sins, of course homosexuality wasn't Gods best subject, and please do no longer permit the Christians that act like its the worst project you're able to do and coach hate in direction of homosexuals, reason you to hate Christianity, because of the fact no the place interior the bible does it say to coach hate.

When anything is read by anyone skilled (or very very unskilled), it can have a hypnotic effect.

And, at the same time, anyone really skilled can also make something boring really really interesting. Its part of being skilled.

Nope, but the extent of irrationality people go to to oppose theism may be as irrational as they claim we are while listening to their pulse rage at the very mention of God and are hypnotized by their own dislike to believe even ludicrous like that proposed by the questioner.
