Any advance that could possibly contradict the idea of God (and many more besides) is attacked from all directions by religion.

This could be to the extremes of the big bang, to advances in medical science and family planning that allow us to 'play god'.

Why is it that these same people are then willing to reap all the benefits that science has brought us over the years?

E.g. The computer you'll be replying on with anger very soon
The electric lighting in your house.
Man-made synthetic fibers you may be wearing.
Medical treatment through drugs etc.

It seems very hypocritical. Like having your cake and eating it too.

I'm kind to every one. I pull over when I'm driving to help someone broke down. I've bought or provided a meal to anyone who has ever needed it. I help stranded and/or abandoned animals. One time there were four guys walking down the street and they needed a ride and I gladly did it. I knew I would be okay because I have faith in God. When I was in College I started a free baby sitting thing. I rounded up a bunch of willing and competent people to babysit children for free because the Mom had to work. I'm not a bad person. But, I'm going to hell because I don't honor Jesus? I don't understand and I hope someone can explain this to me.

I've always been surprised by the reduced ammount of Jews around the world, compared to the other religions.
And I recently, I read on this board that Jews don't try to convert others. Why is that?
Supposing I wanted to convert to Judaism, wouldn't I be allowed to become Jewish?

I would also like to pose another question.

From what I've read, Jesus does not play any role at all in Judaism.

Since Jesus is known for having abolished some Mosaic laws, then I assume that Judaism must be as intolerant as Islam in some issues, and the punishment for adultery might be stoning.

Am I right?

And is this applied?

By the way, does religion have any influence on Israel's national laws? (Is Israel a secular state?)

2- You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

6-You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky...

My mother is insistent that ghost are just demons. Or they are evil. They are a way to distract us from GOD. Now I grew up in a Christian home. I still very much so believe in GOD. But I don’t believe all ghost are bad news. I mean there are places in the world where things take place. Like someone getting murdered or someone being raped. And die. Its not totally out of the ordinary to think there is something left be hide. A energy or some sort of presence. I would like to think that they are not all evil. My mother said she experienced a lot of demonic occurrences in her home growing up. It was the consequences of playing with the weejee board. And they followed her to her first apartment when she was 18 years old. It took a lot of prayer and I guess reading the bible as well as standing her ground as a Christian. Anyway, I have this huge curiosity in the paranormal. I truly find it to be fascinating . I don’t believe my mother. I don’t believe that all ghosts are evil. I think some are victims of foul play. Anyway, what do you guys think? And have you experienced anything paranormal? And not anything silly please.

you think it was because of the prayer, conveniently sweeping under the carpet, so to speak, the 99 times where he didn't answer? This is called propaganda. It is also 'probability' as well.DId you do mathematics at school? Do you really believe your own nonsense when you insult our intelligence with these tales? Can you not see that whatever you prayed for would have happened anyway?

I went up for prayer at the front of the church (just for a blessing really) and the visiting pastor prayed over me with the words, "Please Lord, heal this little girl in this adult's body". Yes, I'm quite young for my age, but now I'm left feeling terrible. I don't know what to think. I'm left feeling so inadequate.

Do you know that muslim women are equal in regards to rights in Islam?

The Prophet (PBUH) accepted women's oath of Islam and obedience, just as he accepted that of men. The women's bay`ah was independent of and separate from that of their men folk, and was not done as an act of blind obedience. This is a confirmation of the independence of the Muslim woman's identity, and of their competence to bear the responsibility of giving the oath of allegiance and making the commitment to obey Allah (SWT) and be loyal to Him and His Messenger. All of this happened centuries before the modern world recognized woman's right to freedom of expression and the right to vote independently. This is in addition to other important rights, such as her independent right to own wealth and her freedom from the responsibility to spend on others, even if she is rich, and her equality with men in human worth, education, and general religious and legal duties.
