I've seen several questions recently asking atheists why they respond with "hate" to questions posted by Christians. The thing is... I can't tell what constitutes a response of "hate" and what doesn't, so would someone PLEASE explain to me what the criteria for a "hateful" response is?

Any book(s) you just don't think ought to be in the Bible for some reason? Hypothetically, if it were up to you?

For me it would be Ezra-Nehemiah. I think the narratives are important, but the spiritual lessons are HORRIBLE...

(And before you bother to answer "None, they're all inspired, etc." Stop and think... Why did your Bible omit some books? All protestant Bibles omit some books; every Bible ultimately has only some books included while other ancient texts that could have been included weren't. Someone made that choice; have you ever stopped to think why and how those choices were made in the first place?)

Remember, I'm just talking hypothetically! What book(s) do you PERSONALLY have a hard time with?

And Lo! The journey must begin. Take not the wife of your brother's shepherd with you for she will taint the spoons of your household. And carry not anything that comes from the sea that is green, for if you do a great plague of locusts will engulf your household, and your shoes will split. As so befits a son of Ted, son of Todd, son of Rasta, you will take three reeds, one shorter than the other and one shorter still. Place the reeds under your left arm, for it is wicked. Wave goodbye with your right arm, for it is blessed. Do not turn your back on any tree or bush as you leave, for God created them. And he is a vengeful God.

2.
And Jesus said: There was once a farmer with three sons. All were leaving Jerusalem for the festival, but the man had only three reeds. "I will give you each a reed and you will place it under your left arm" said the farmer, "and you will wave goodbye with your right arm for that is a son's duty to his father", and the sons waved goodbye. Seeing this God was angry at the farmer. "I commanded three reeds. For this I will kill your sons!" he told the farmer and he readied to slay them, but the farmer begged God to spare them. Gold told him "You have begged and pleaded very well with me farmer, and I am a loving God, so I will spare you. And now for all time a man may wave goodbye with both hands and I will not strike him down. To mark this day I will give whiskers unto cats so that no man may forget this day". Jesus led his disciples to a market and told them "See, does not this cat have whiskers?"

do you believe in once saved always saved or lose your salvation? Also do you believe that we don't have "free will" because if you really think about it we don't i mean God knows what we are going to do the next minute or hour or whatever. I personally believe in once saved always saved. this is more of an opinion thing so feel free to say all you want on the SUBJECT and bible verses would be nice. THANKS and GOD BLESS

In Islam Messiah does not mean God or son of God.

If the Jews believed in Jesus God was going to forgive them for slaying all the Prophets in the past and save them from an eternal curse.

They denied him and got the big C.

Muslims have a seperate covenant through the the first son of Abraham - Ishmael .

Muslims are not dependant on a Jewish Messiah for atonement or guidance.

Muslim are indepedant of the historical rebellion of the children of Isaac.

I keep my god son probably every other weekend. I get him on Friday's and take him home on Sunday's after church service. I have been a member of my church for over three years now and have been kept up this routine with him the entire time. Now all of a sudden my god son's mother has a problem with me taking him to church. She says that children are not able to understand what is going on during the service and not able to grasp the concept of church, which I totally disagree with. She comes up with laim excuses like, I want to take him to the park or I want to take him to my mother's house. All of these things can be done after church serice. How can she says that children don't learn anything in church? My church has children's church for children to learn. Why is she so suddenly against me taking him to church with me?

Why is it that Christians get bashed no matter what the question is. DON'T MAKE A DRINK YET. LOL

This is a spiritual and religious site where we are supposed to be able to be transparant and learn more about each other. The first 3-4 comments (usually) on every Christian post is a hate answer. When you insult my God you insult me. It would be like me insulting you personally.

Do you base your belief system re: all christians due to the "fanatical and rude" responses of some Christians? Most of us are caring, loving, open minded and tolerant individuals. We love ALL people no matter what their belief. For those atheists who slam everyone for no reason, you are just as foolish as the "fanatical and rude" Christians. You give atheists a bad name.

I have found out for myself that there are many very nice, caring atheists that I have become acquainted with and correspond with. They put you haters to shame.

Please quit the hating - your words are offensive and hurtful.

I ask this because in my previous question, someone thought that disagreeing with God on sexual issues was a big sin. So, even if you aren't a homosexual, but think homosexuality is AOK, then you are sinning? How exactly do you repent from that? One doesn't really change what they think is right or else it goes against their morals and values.

along with this would be pre-marital sex issues too I suppose.

I mean it is just WRONG. The doctrine of the Rapture is not mentioned in any Christian writings, of which we have knowledge, until after the year 1830 A.D. Whether the early writers were Greek or Latin, Armenian or Coptic, Syrian or Ethiopian, English or German, orthodox or heretic, no one mentioned a syllable about it.

How can people buy into this? Not one orthodox mainstream Christian denomination holds this to be truth.

I need the answer to this question very soon. Sacraments can be described as mysteries. Can we know anything about a mystery? What are some of the things the Catholic Church teaches about sacraments?
Thanks in Advance.

I'm aware that the King James Bible is hundreds of years old, and the meanings of the words from that time have changed, which can lead people to misinterpret the Bible.

I was wondering, though, if the New International version changes the words into modern English or if it's just written with modern English grammar.

I've never read any version of the Bible, but I would like to read it for what it truly was without learning Hebrew.

so complete—that they will actually deceive all mankind into fighting Jesus at His Second Coming (16:9, 13-16; 17:13-14)!

You'd think it would be a simple matter for an omnipotent deity to explain to his followers that "This. Is. Barbaric. You vicious fools. Stop it at once."
