I often stumble over what it is I wish to say and frequently end up sounding more like a grade-schooler than a mature woman.

I'm only speechless when it takes me a while to find the right words. But I almost always end up saying something.

Interestingly, the older I've gotten and the more time I've spent with my introverted boyfriend, the more I've recognized the impact that silence can have.

Some postings I turn and walk away from because I am speechless and without an answer to what they are "asking".

I, too, always have something to say but also have been left speechless due to a number of things that I read on here.

*sigh*

I am a person used to saying what is on ones mind. I have been told I am very opinionated. So I guess I am never at a loss of words to express my thoughts about what I believe.

Apparently, you are learning to hold your tongue. Since the word says the tongue can send blessing or cursing I guess it is good to learn when to speak and when not too. Maybe you are just experiencing Peace in the Valley.

No, and lots of times I think of something I could have, would have should have said after the opportunity is past.
You have to take a good look at your "various reasons" and sort out what is keeping your silence for you. Is it being unprepared? being in shock by what was asked or said? feeling out of your realm of knowledge? intimidation? all are reasons why I have sometimes been unresponsive.
hope it helps for you to know you aren't the only one.

Yes. I may be left momentarily speechless by some particularly inane piece of idiocy, but it does not last long. I do not suffer fools gladly.

Many times speechless, as it is beyond words...

There are ocassions when I think it's not worth saying anything about what I believe, but if anyone indicates an interest I can usually comment.

I guess it depends on what we're talking about. Most of the time I'll use evidence and proof to support what I believe though.
