Lilth is usually derived from the Babylonian-Assyrian word lilitu, ,a female demon, or wind-spirit'-one of a triad mentioned in Babylonian spells. But she appears earlier as 'Lillake' on a 2000 B.G. Sumerian tablet from Ur containing the tale of Gilgamesh and the Willow Tree. There she is a demoness dwelling in the trunk of a willow-tree tended by the Goddess Inanna (Anath) on the banks of the Euphrates. Popular Hebrew etymology seems to have derived Lilith from layil, 'night'; and she therefore often appears as a hairy night-monster, as she also does in Arabian folklore. Solomon suspected the Queen of Sheba of being Lilth. because she had hairy legs. His judgement on the two harlots is recorded in I Kings III. 16 ff. According to Isaiah xxxiv. I4-I5, Lilith dwells among the desolate ruins in the Edomite Desert where satyrs (se'ir), reems, pelicans, owls, jackals, ostriches, arrow-snakes and kites keep her company.

The woman you are looking for is Lillith, but she is NOT a Biblical character. Lillith is a djinni, a Jewish fairy-tale character that appeared in literature only a few centuries ago. She was supposedly Adam's "first wife", though not human, whom he divorced over sexual impropriety and rebellion. When she left Eden, she shacked up with a few demons and made lots of demonspawn.

You can probably find lots of information on her by just doing a Google search on the name "Lillith".

don't believe everything on the internet, including things that come out of people's mouths on yahoo answer.

Lilith is mostly in the talmudic fall. She's mentioned a screech owl in the KJV bible. But basically she wanted to be on top in sex so they booted her for someone a little more submissive...EVE.

The Book of Isaiah 34:14, describing the desolation of Edom, is the only occurrence of Lilith in the Hebrew Bible

After God created Adam, who was alone, He said, “It is not good for man to be alone.”

He then created a woman for Adam, from the earth, as He had created Adam himself, and called her Lilith. Adam and Lilith immediately began to fight.

She said, “I will not lie below.”

And he said, “I will not lie beneath you, but only on top. For you are fit only to be in the bottom position, while I am to be the superior one.”

Lilith responded, “We are equal to each other inasmuch as we were both created from the earth.”

But they would not listen to one another. When Lilith saw this, she pronounced the Ineffable Name and flew away into the air.

There were thousands of people before Adam and Eve, Adam and Eve were simply the first ones to break God's rules.

There was no other woman before Eve. Eve was the first woman. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

Since the Adam and Eve story is fiction, it doesn't matter.
