This is the Qur'an view

[9:30] The Jews said, "Ezra is the son of GOD," while the Christians said, "Jesus is the son of GOD!" These are blasphemies uttered by their mouths. They thus match the blasphemies of those who have disbelieved in the past. GOD condemns them. They have surely deviated.

[4:157] And for claiming that they killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of GOD. In fact, they never killed him, they never crucified him - they were made to think that they did. All factions who are disputing in this matter are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. For certain, they never killed him.

They believe that Christians Blaspheme and God condems them. They believe another took Jesus place on the cross.

Hence I don't think very much of them or their views. They make atheists look good by comparison!

My personal belief is that the Islamic view of Christianity is incorrect and as time goes on each will know the other better. I've felt for a long time that many people on both sides may rely too much on what they hear from their religious leaders or the media and it would be nice if people on both sides would accept that the other side is just people also.

Conversely, I see the Islamic religion as being one with followers who have no faith - how else could you explain the desire to kill (or tax, or ...) others who disagree with your beliefs? I see this as intolerance, discriminatory, and as mentioned before, lacking faith. If the God you believe in is All-Powerful and capable of creating the entire universe, why would members of your community have to resort to killing to prove they are the chosen ones? It is exactly like yelling in an argument - when you do it, you automatically lose.

I have great sorrow for the true Muslim that wants to live peaceably on the planet with Christians, to learn about us, to have us as neighbors, and to find out that our faith is huge. We will let God show you that we are all human and all very much the same.

I do not care about Christian view of Christianity. Why would I care what an Islamic view is?
Well, you asked what I think.

I have returned from a Islamic country, most people I spoke to said that Jesus was a great profit, a man who spoke logic and truth, others said that the two were similar and spoke of peace and love. Still others found it hard if not very difficult to believe that all there was to Christianity is only to believe in Jesus as the risen son of God to have eternal life, that's it nothing else. no good works you do will bring you to the Father, just faith in his son. with that the rest will come because of the love of the Father. This was the most significant difference most of the Islamic view I came into contact with. Jesus clearly teaches that worship and praise is to the Father, and the Father only, Jesus is the name of authority with the Father clearly gave to us, it is through Jesus that we have access to the Father, I believe many have confused this as worship to Jesus and not to the Father. I worship the Father in the name of Jesus.

I think its all based on a flawed assumption that the "true Bible" has been lost. When they know darn well that the Bible Muhammad had in his day is the same we have today. Our Bible is more textually accurate than the Quran if they really want to compare texts. There are variants to the Quran that were made that dont even exist today because Uthman ordered them to be burned.

And unlike the Quran, we have variant manuscripts and their message doesnt contradict. They are mostly spelling differences or ommitted passages. But God only knows what was in the other editions of the Quran. We know that Muahmmad earlier in his life preached that it was ok to seek the arab pagan gods.

what I would like to know is if Christians had Jesus and then 600 years later Muslims had Jesus as well , clearly I see some issues! then I wonder why Muslims try so hard to change others including Christians into Muslims - confusing - I feel!!!!!
so they must not think much of Christians - period!!!!!

I am neither and these are just a couple of points I would like to make!

what exactly is the muslim view of christianity? I am sure I am mistaken, but it seems as if muslims dont like us very much. After reading the previous answers I believe we worship Jesus because the bible tells us we cannot get to the father except through the son.

I give no credence to Islam since it denies Jesus is the son of God, that He died on the cross and rose again, or that He is the only way to salvation. Therefore, I'm not really interested in any opinion they have of Christianity.
