The common mistake of man is that he tries to understand HIM with human knowledge alone. God is the great I AM. He always has been, and cannot be explained to the satisfaction of man. God is a triune God, that is, God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Examine the holy Scriptures and ask God to reveal Himself to you. I f you are truly asking to know who God is and want to know Him he will reveal Himself to you. Check out the following scriptures for a start:
ISAIAH 46:9, 48:5 and in the new testament read 1st John 5,7 and 8. Look around you and see the work of our God in His majestic creations! We cant deny that God exists if we just open our eyes!

Are you questioning the divinity of Jesus? I think you misunderstand the doctrine of the trinity. God the Father is not diminished by God the Son.
Christians are baptized "in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." They are not baptized "in the names" of the Father, Son and Spirit because there is only one God, the Most Holy Trinity. The baptismal confession of faith has three parts because "the faith of all Christians rests on the Trinity" (St. Caesarilus of Arles).

True, we are all God's children. Unfortunately, a lot of children don't like living by God's rules and leave home.
