For Jehova Witnesses it means they cannot pledge allegience to the flag, a peice of cloth, or even the state it represents.

For muslims, it means they cannot even have images, sculptures, paintings, etc of their god Allah. Muslims hold the ten commandments to be true also.

What does it mean for christians who pledge allegience to the flag and state and worship at the foot of sculptures of Jesus and/or Mary?

i am seeing plenty of christians on this site bagging muslims, jews, atheist and even some of their own. why dont you grow up and show the repect you expect from everyone else to those around you. jesus told you not to judge but i see plenty of christians out there judging people.

if we are going to get a long we are going to need to show tolerance. accept peoples differences, if you dont agree you can pray for them but dont judge. its a big world we can all live together.

Do you know that the Jehovah's Witnesses was started by a Charles Taze Russell in 1870?

And if you know this, is it logical to believe that people have only known the truth since 1870? and is it logical to believe that all the years before that people were just in the dark?

who beg for money to feed and house the children of foreign countries but they don't spend one second to ask for help for all the thousands who are homeless in America? I spent 8 1/2 years of my own life being homeless and hungry and found religons to be nothing more than hypocrites when it come to helping the plight of the needy in this country. When will "America's" religious begin to take on the situation of so many homeless persons suffering and doing without???

My friend Sherry wants to tell her daughter about Jesus, but she thinks she might be too young (she's six). She got really upset when she found out about the Easter Bunny and Santa not being real, so I think she should let the girl have her fun at church for a couple more years. What is the proper age to have "the talk" with a child to let them know about the big Jesus myth?

Our founding fathers were NOT CHRISTIAN. I have seen this brought up in a few questions and answers. The majority of the founding fathers were deists, which is the belief in a creator (God) but that God didn't impact daily life at all. The didn't even believe in the divinity of Jesus. As a matter of fact, a few of the founding fathers leaned very close to athiesm. (Jefferson, Paine, and even Washington) If you do not believe me, do your own research, it won't take much.

Point is...America never started out as a Christian nation!

First, if god wants us all to accept him. Why would he make (the trinity) such a hard concept to understand, why didn't he make it easy, so that everyone understands it?

If Jesus is part of the trinity, doesn't that mean that god didn't really die for our sins. Since Jesus is not the only part of god.

If Jesus died for our sins, and was revived back, isn't that not much of a sacrafice?

If Jesus is part of a trinity and he is god, wouldn't that make him Alpha and omega, (he is the first and last), but he had an end, he died, according to you. (he is not the last).

If Jesus is not part of a trinity, and only the son of god, wouldn't that make god a ruthless, unjust god, for killing his son who is innocent for other people's actions instead of punishing people who are guilty of sin?

Sorry, for any spelling errors!!!

I've been an R&S regular since the beginning of time.
I brag about how much everyone likes me.
I don't respect women.
I talk a whole lot of nice, pretty b.s. and then use it to seduce the ladies.
I have screwed with one person too many and everyone knows it.

Is it true that your god won't save me from death if I don't accept your beliefs..?

Even though I'm a person of good character and morals, will I go to hell, or just not go to heaven, like you will..?

And does your god also selectively bless your country, ..above others..?

Do you purposefully tell your children to believe any of this..?
I can't ignore these and other assertions that your beliefs leave me on a lower rung in consideration without ever knowing me. It's very judgemental ..

Have you ever wondered what this must look like to people who believe, understand, and can repeatedly verify the logic and evidence for their beliefs, which are far more complex explanations than saying "don't really know, but god did it, god can do anything"..?

To me personally it looks, and is, damaging, destructive, and stifles learning abilities, and embraces the concept of bigotry, therefore conflict...

As everyone knows, we've found hundreds of planets outside our solar system, we recently found one this year as well. So in the bible, it says, god only created earth, heavens and stars. Where does it create extra-solar planets?

Some of these found planets are actually older than earth!!!

I converted to islam a few years ago. I dont want to throw my Bible in the bin because it contains some of the words of God (just mixed with mens words) What should I do with it?

And in their footsteps, We sent 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), confirming the Taurât (Torah) that had come before him, and We gave him the Injeel (Gospel), in which was guidance and light and confirmation of the Taurât (Torah) that had come before it, a guidance and an admonition for Al-Muttaqûn (the pious).

--- What you guys think about this article I found ???

Alcoholism
An Inconvenient
Spiritual Truth!
It does not matter whether you are a Christian or not,
if you are an alcoholic then you are being manipulated by evil spirits.
Unfortunately the Christian leaders out there are so blinded by the devil that they cannot offer true help to those who need these types of spiritual assistance, it's easier to send them to AA meetings and psychiatric clinics and hospitals.

During my walk with Jesus Christ I have encountered so many evil spirits behind diseases, such as Cancer, Epilepsy and Aids, as well as Suicide, Homosexuality, Abortion, Addictions. I just don't understand why our Christian leaders have a hard time understanding these facts.
THE BIBLE IS FULL OF EXAMPLES OF DEMON-OPPRESSION AND POSSESSION!
Why can't our leaders understand that then?

Who is He??...

God – a comprehensive, yet Comprehendible, Being??

There seems to be a Terrible, terrible misconception creeping in and setting itself into modern culture that God only exists, or POSSIBLY exists, to the degree that we cannot explain matters – usually, scientifically.
That is, the very erroneous ‘standard’ seems to be embedding itself into the nature of our social thinking that we need to have mystifying, unexplainable phenomena or conditions occurring on earth, to ‘prove’, or even believe, there is a God!
I have not heard greater rot in all my life!!!!

God wants us to grow … He wants us to learn … to expand – to progress.
If you think about it, everything in life is bent towards our ‘human’ growth, our learning, the appreciation of what we have [or had, in some instances].
He is a God of knowledge and of abundance - a God of growth, of advancement and progress.
When we choose and learn wisely, we progress; our societies all progress.
His words were, through His Son, Jesus Christ:
“I am come that they might have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”

1.
Let’s just go back for a moment to the very first words ever to fall from the mouth of God in “survival instruction” to Adam and Eve.
Those words were:
“Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth and subdue it”

Now does that sound like a God of progress and growth – of advancing Man, or of a God stunting growth, of secrecy and hope for human failure – of regress and mysticism??

That last part of the instruction, in particular, assumes that man is learning about the earth and his environment – that he is gaining control and understanding of the elements.

2.
It has also been prophesied in holy writ that in the Last Days, knowledge would increase throughout the earth.
Is this not precisely what is happening?

3.
Jesus said, “Come follow me”. He also instructed his disciples to “Do the things that ye have seen me do”.
Yet scripture attests that He is the very Creator [see opening verses of John and various other places in holy writ]
If we are to follow Him then we are to learn all we can concerning life itself, and this earth; are we not?
… and what subject do we call this in school??
Yes; we call it, “science”.
God is not a god of secrecy and mysticism.
He loves all of us and wants us to become like Him.
Hence, his Son’s example to us, and His constant teaching to us of His ways through His prophets and the Holy Ghost.

4. Most importantly of the lot, we are literally, His children – spiritually.
Hence, the reason Jesus taught us:
“Our Father who art in Heaven … “
NOTE: He did not say, “My Father in Heaven…”
When teaching all of us He always referred to Him as ‘THE Father”, because God begat us spiritually; though He only begat one in the flesh.
He was also referred to in the Old Testament as, “the Father of spirits”
Now, every father wishes the very best for his children.
He wants his children to become like him, or better, where that be possible.
This is precisely our Father’s wish for us.
He wants us to learn everything … but piece by piece, is the only way we can handle it – even if simply that we get too big-headed to receive it any other way. But either way, we could not contain it all at once … plus we would not have earned it, and we must earn our right to knowledge and blessings in life.

Considering all of the above, I don’t think it is out of order to conclude that God wants all things to be comprehendible to His children, and that He would make all things explainable to their readiness to receive – at least, those things that relate to this earth and its inhabitants anyway.

I can only see from all religious reports that being able to explain things or otherwise has not the skeric of applicability to the Question of there being a God or not being one.

What say ye??

Jesus was a practising jew, and never did he state he wanted to start a new religion. His earliest followers were practising jews who accpeted Jesus. ANY jew will tell you that the trinity is not a part of their faith, who made it up?

In the Bible the disciples reject Paul as a heritic.

Some of our separated brethren seem not to enjoy my questionin or being placed on the hotseat, or having to analize their previous misconceptions of Catholicism as well as their own self-denial of tradition, ritual and authority. I'm wondering what do the rest of you think Catholic or non-Catholic do you think I've made some head-way in having our separated brethren do self-inventory? Do you think any of them actually care to know their origins? Do you think they are learning they really don't know Catholicism and only what they thought it to be?
