Is this a far cry from the world you expected as a child?

For me, it is.

Yes, and that is an interesting thought that should have but for some reason never occurred to me. I'm not sure what, if anything, I expected as a child, but if I had to guess I thought the fun would never stop, that toys and dreams are what life would always be about. Now that I look at the world, all the people and their situations, not to mention how fortunate I am to live in a free country like the United States, it is truly a wonder why people even bother to reproduce. Oh, I know, it's raging hormones. Nice but insidious.

Not really - think of all the things that have happened since you were a child - technology, world info, etc - it all depends on how you focus on things, and ifyou think your childhood dreams of a perfect life were unchangeable.

Myself, I wanted to do and be many things throughout my childhood - I did some of them, and some I'll never do.

But then I never expected perfection - some people do, and find themselves disappointed when they grow up.

I'm sorry you fel that way - but you can still change it - do some of the things you wanted to do as a child. What have you got to lose but some of your unhappiness?

Why do you have Evil in your name? I suspect you are really not. Yes, this world is a far cry from what I expected it to be when I turned 66 years of age. My children have different values from me and the churches are so different. I really miss the old-fashioned revival meetings we used to have. At least, I still have my precious husband of 45 years, and I have 4 precious grandchildren.

I thought I'd have more money.
When I was a child I really didn't have and expectations as to what the world would be like.

I expected everything to be given to me. I never imagined working this hard for anything. I also never knew their would be so much hate in this world, its quite sad how many campaigns I support..because it just reminds me everyday how much negativity is in the world.

The world is pretty much the same as it was when I was a child, but my perception has changed.

Yes.

Things are so very different from when I was a child. Now, I don't even allow my children to do the things I did for fear of someone abducting them or a drive by shooting occurring.

Yes, when we were children our parents kept us safe, so to speak. They didn't hand us their problems, and we wouldn't have understood them. In all of our everday roblems, though, we must admit things travel in full circle. The issues today are the same ones our ancestors went through, except we have more information.

Who thought we'd see the day when the best golfer is black, and the best rapper was white? Personally I was in high school when the Berlin wall fell, so I was prepared for anything.
