Maybe they've seen what a mess the Religious Right has gotten us into and don't want to be conneccted to it anymore. It's not like the RR has done the US any favors these past few years...eroded wall between Chruch and State, war on false evidence, appointments made for religious and political loyalties over ability...

well i think it's because they know they have to be religious in order to get elected but they may not neccessarily believe any of it.
