Seems as most would say faith came first.

So I wonder in "todays world" if the bible was never written do you think you would still have your faith or would you question more?

Just wondering about this idea. Some people believe this happened because it is such a strong image. I have heard these stories since my days in Sunday School. But is there actual evidence that this happened. I thought about this when I saw that some scholars are not in agreement over this. Don't remember where though. Of course Christians were persecuted in the Roman Empire but is the persecution they suffered exagerrated is more what this question is about. Like some Wiccans exaggerating the issue surrounding what they called the "burning times" when Christians burned those accused of heresy or devil worship. Do religions need to create a persecution myth to give them legitimacy?

In revelation 1:11 ( Jesus said to John ) -- I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

If you decide something is healthy, then you have decided what is unhealthy

If you decide something is beuatiful, then you have decided what is ugly

If you decide something is long, then you have decided what is short.

Words are pointless, in the beginning there were no words, but words are made by man to try and explain the unexplainable and touch the intangible

And make some daring changes to the US Constitution.
Like for example The Rosie amendment: Mandatory mouth stapling. And an atheist amendment: free speech as long as we decide what that "free speech" is?

Sort of like the liberals rules are now only we do it in reverse.

I've never met a supposed atheist who knew anything whatsoever about Hinduism, for example, and yet they insist they just somehow "know" that "all" religions are nonsense. They often are seen wearing t-shirts with intelligent slogans like "religion sucks" but if you ask them what religion in particular they are referring to all they just snarl; similarly if you ask them if they have studied all religions. That's another point: I've never met one who ever took a comparitive religion course in college. So basically they're talking from a standpoint of utter ignorance, aren't they? Even with Christianity they don't seem to know much of anything except tv evangelism and oh yeah, there's that Pope guy. Just stuff you see on tv. How can you denounce as false all religions everywhere when you know nothing or next to nothing about any of them?

I assume that if you believe the Big Bang theory, then you also believe other aspects of science. For instance, that every action causes an equal and opposite reaction. Going further, there is one main action that set off a trend of reactions that have led up to current situations in the universe. If this statement is true then there had to be an action to cause the Big Bang, and an action to cause the reaction that cause the Big Bang, and so on and so forth. Please explain to me what the first action was that started the sequence of events leading up to the Big Bang. And where did the small mass that exploded into the large mass come from?

All the old bible say:
The literal translation of Leviticus, that two men should not lay the lyings of a woman really doesn't make any sense,

Aren't you going to hell for adding to God's word.
If it wasn't for an atheist to point this out, I would have never knowned!
God uses atheists to help us christians.
God is love!

I just posted a question about how logic brought me to Christianity. I only had about 2 Christians that came to back me up.

After careful consideration. I decided to be an Atheist because God needs to come from somewhere. Another being just to create god so he can create the universe. And another being has to create the god before the Christian God.

Kool. I'm back to the light now fellow Atheists!

Here's why.

In the Ten Commandments, the prohibition is against murder. In other words, killing someone for personal reasons or personal gain.

Killing in the name of God is sanctioned throughout the Bible.

What do you think all of the stoning was for? Sure the Christians were more into burning people, but they got a taste for revenge after Nero and just never quit.

I see and hear a lot, lot, lot, lot, lot, lot of people saying that Christianity makes the most sense..
So are you saying that Jesus (pbuh) sacrificed him self like the Egyptian people use to do to keep the river Nile flowing?
or are you saying that if jesus (pbuh) would have sacrificed him self even if Barabbas was chosen to be killed instead of him?
Or that God the all knowing did not know that people were going to do sins..
or that God had Jesus (pbuh) without sex yet there can never but anything with out something....
There are so many versions of bible that contradict each other. that makes sense?
Your opinions? No offense

forver and a day ago. Passed down over the centuries and so on and so forth.

Did anyone ever play that game telephone as a little child?
You take 6 or so friends and you get in a circle.
One kid starts it off and tells the first kid to their left something in their ear. Then the first kid tells the second kid and the second the third etc.
And then the last kid to get the message says it aloud, and it is not what the kid who started it said....????

So here is my question do you think (not feel but think there is a difference) that it is very likely that over the years the bible's true messages has been completely altered from its orginal version??
Do you think certain teachings within it were made to suit people of the itme??

Just curious...

A guy came up to me the other day while I was visiting Mississippi and after seeing my kippa asked me totally out of the blue, "Excuse me sir, I was just wandering where were your horns? I have never seen a Jew before." I thought that he was joking, but he continued to ask me where do I affix them to and do they hurt when I take them of?

Okay I can believe the fact that he has never seen a Jew before this is after all Mississippi, but common sense would tell you that humans do not have horns?

So, is there a prayer that I can say for G-d to watch over fools?

Some people refused to accept the truth about our Jesus! satan has them so blinded from the truth. Its really sad! Don't they know that christians only tell them about Jesus. Because they care and love! We don't want no one to go too hell! A true christian cares and loves. Jesus is the only true living God! I believe and I know God is real and created us all!! Believeing and haveing Faith in Jesus. Then you will know Hes real! God created everything. satan really has a hold on some people and they don't even realize it. satan will lie to you and fool you. satan don't want you to accept the truth about Jesus. he knows if you do you will be going to Heaven. satan don't want that. he wants all the souls he can get to take too hell with him. satan knows he don't have alot of time. so he is working hard on people to get them away from Jesus. Because he knows when Jesus comes back. that he will loose and be lock in hell forever! For Jesus is more powerful!
