First of all, the Bible is the Word of God. It was given by Him to mainly the prophets and apostles of His choosing, so it would be written down and preserved, so we would still have it today. The Old Testament was sort of culturally specific to that day, because it involved The Old Testamnt Law. That law was how God expected the people to relate to Him then, because God's Son, Jesus Christ , the Messiah, hadn't yet come. All the sin and debauchery that went on in those Old Testament days certainly was not ordained or condoned by God, but people, being naturally sinful, with minds of their own and wills of their own, did things that God strongly rebuked them for. What you should do to find out the relevance of the Bible for today, is get yourself a " Cotempoary English Version", by the American Bible Society, and read the NEW teatament. Then when you understand how we are to relate to God today, then read the Old Testament so you can compare living for Him under the Law with living for Him under Grace, which is where we are now. There is a verse that says, : " God is the same yesterday, today, and forever ".

real. also a lot of it become by no ability meant to be a Holy e book. The epistles were basically letters that Paul wrote to his followers. various the Bible become written down years after the actual actuality, after oral repetitions and documents extra or taken away,or replaced fullyyt. some elements were by no ability to be taken actually, and logos and hidden meanings are prolific in the course of the Bible. Fulfilled prophecy is not any information. Later writers can fairly twist the tale to make it adjust to before widely huge-spread prophecies. also there is information that circumstances were contrived to regulate to prophecy. a minimum of two places contained in the NT say "This become done basically so prophecy be fulfilled." the purely way any prophecy will be shown is for it to be sealed and unknown to everyone who might want to impression it till after the actual actuality, then when compared with fairly events.

The wording of the Bible is fine but your interpretation might need some work.
You want to quote chapter and verse on these things? God does not tell you to kill nor does he tell you to own slaves...might want to actually read the book.
What culure do you suppose the Bible was written in that murdering the wife and kids was good? Lady it is obvious that the problem is with you not the word of God.

The bible is man made, the only through words according to God are those of the Dead sea scrolls, written in the time of Christ.
I don't believe in man made religion as it is conditioned by man for man not by God for all humans male and female.
You should read the gospel according to Thomas..

HAVE YOU READ THE ENTIRE BIBLE? See my 360 for help on Studying the Bible.... FIRST!
The BIBLE.. was first Written to GOD'S Chosen People... who would Not Hear or Obey.... HIM!
(Dueteronomy 18:12-13) For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
(Deut 18:13) Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
The NT... was written BECAUSE THE JEWS REJECTED.... JESUS... AS THE MESSIAH!
Truth is still..... TRUTH... IS IT NOT?
Thanks, RR

If you had a true spiritual understanding of the bible you would know that everything is cyclical and 5000 years ago is no different than today!

You already know the answer to this, their god is a tribal god, not the god of all. Jesus even says that he came for the lost sheep of Israel, he didn't even know there was anything outside of the Mediterranean, let alone people with other religions.

the shame is that yes it was written of men from thier ways of seeing
but had angels wrote it we would not yety see thier truths
had god wrote it it would be perfect
[it would project into our minds like a living vision]
but it is what it is a record of those mortals seing beyond our selves [to reveal the greater living eternally in the moment ]even now , the living god of deed /life [not found ] captured into word ,but lived /loved realised [now] in the ever live time ''now '' moment
