Seems as most would say faith came first.

So I wonder in "todays world" if the bible was never written do you think you would still have your faith or would you question more?

the Old Testament tells us about people having faith, since it happened before it was written, faith came first...
the New Testament tell us about Jesus' faith and the Disciples' faith in him, as well as others coming to believe, since these happened before they were written down, faith came first...
people would believe in something without the Bible, later greek philosophy leaned toward a one God before being influenced by Judeo-Christian religion. There would be faith, Biblical faith, however, would be impossible without a Bible... logically...

Faith came first. Men of faith wrote the biblical books to evangelize others, and later, other men of faith decided these books belonged in an authoritative anthology. If someone has faith in the Bible, they must also have faith in the Church that produced it. There is no middle ground there. The Bible is dependent on the faith of these men and their faithfulness to that faith. Consequently, yes, I would still have my faith. There's a famous comment that if all the copies of the Bible were exterminated so that it couldn't be reproduced, we would simply produce another.

--ABEL, who was murdered by Cain had faith that the animal sacrifice he offered to God on the alter would be acceptable to Jehovah.

--Noah, Abraham etc. had no written record because the Bible was not started to be recorded until Moses began writing in 1513 BCE.

--IF THERE was no Bible as a written record of Gods dealings with humans we would always have creation that serves as a book, with all that it tells!

--ASIDE FROM THE Scripture I am quoting, it is the thought without the book that is emphasized here:

(Romans 1:20) 20 For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable;"

--WHEN AS A GREEK ORTHODOX I had very little knowledge of the Bible but what I saw in the creation always impressed to God's creation, never doubted it at all!
--WHEN IN college evolution ideas never even made the slightest impression , because of its foolishness.
--YES I BELIEVE if God, Jehovah did not provide the Bible that my faith in him would be as strong as would be reasonable without history of his dealings!

Faith. Abraham had no scriptures but depended on God's word just the same, I think God would make himself known to those who love the truth and still does today the Bible is a tool to know him.

I am not sure, at times, knowing this history of the Bible, it almost becomes an impediment to Faith. But, also knowing that same history we know that Faith preceeded the Bible by hundreds of years.

I hate those HYPOTHETICAL QUESTIONS.... !

GOD... DID WRITE THE BIBLE.... For ALL... Mankind!

The WORD... Came ..... FIRST... THEN FAITH IN THE WORD... and Its Author... GOD!

(Rom 10:17) Then faith is of hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

(Rom 10:18) But I say, Have they not heard? Yes indeed, their voice went out into all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.

(Rom 10:19) But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses says, "I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you."

(Rom 10:20) But Isaiah is very bold and says, "I was found by those who did not seek Me, I became known to those who did not ask after Me."

(Rom 10:21) But to Israel He says, "All day long I have stretched forth My hands to a disobeying and gainsaying people."

Thanks, RR

{:( sadly I used up all my stars today...will have to catch you tomorrow :)}

GOOOOOOOOOOD QUESTION!

Will have to think on this one....but....my first thought is that if the Bible had never been written, in today's world, I think that those who are inclined to analyze things and always wanting to learn, would listen to what people had to say, watch them, and try it in private (praying/talking to God, etc.,). and if they feel "enlightened" by feeling or by an action, then, they will choose for themselves to "believe"....as for others not willing to put so much effort in, they will follow the ones they personally think is worth following whether by their riches, their charismatic personality, their "easy" way of worship, etc etc etc....in other words...would probably much the same as it is today....give or take a few people here and there....
