You're not a liar unless you lie. You're not an athlete unless you play sports. You're not a murderer unless you murder. Your not a teacher unless you teach. soo, you're not a homosexual unless you commit homosexual acts. All of these involve choice.
However you don't have to have sex to be a heterosexual, because that's is the way ALL humans are born, and that is how we reproduce. We are all drawn to the opposite sex, unless somewhere in our lives, our view of things had been perverted or distorted and what you saw of a relationship between a man and a woman wasn't what it was supposed to be. Any thoughts?

Just since he went to school he has been hearing things from kids. One day he came home and asked something about god, and I said "our family doesn't believe in god". However, he comes home almost every day with more questions like "Well how did everything get here then?" etc. I know this is because he is having discussions with the other children.

Then today he said "Why don't we believe in God?" and "But I really want to, all my friends do". I simply told him we don't and that he should never believe or do something just because everyone else is. After that I was at a total loss of what to say. I feel completely unprepared. Advice? Thanks.

I have this theory that I can trap souls by using an electrified metallic/organic box.
Yes it sounds extremely crazy and your probably wondering where I came up with this theory and well it started when I herd that it was possible for souls to get stuck on a electrical wire or telephone pole- something like that when someone is projecting, and I thought that that was pretty crazy like how most of you are thinking that it is crazy, but then I thought to myself hmm where did that guy come up with that? Well most people cant just come up with something as weird as that, so I thought about it and asked myself, what holds are souls in our bodies,- well our brain is constantly producing electricity and when some one gets hit up side the head really hard and has a near death experience there brain stops for a second. And well that might be how there soul leaves for a minute and either stays gone and the body dies or comes back and the body lives, so it might be possible to trap someone who has just died and keep there soul in a electric box, I have more to this theory to maybe convince you but I don’t have the room to put it and all of the facts and evidence to back it. But it is something to think about unless you’re arrogant and not open to new ideas.

She then promptly does the christian thing by sueing the church for her injuries. She claims negligence, saying there should have been an usher nearby to catch her. There's some debate that perhaps she was coached how to fall and planned the thing.
Would it be more christian of her to not sue?
If she planned it, is she evil?
Is it similar to sueing God?
Is it unchristian for the pastor and other members to assume that she might have planned it?

This isn't an agenda based question for or against christians or atheists. I just saw the story and found it interesting. Your thoughts on the questions I asked or anything else?

Its like some form of mass hysteria. Its like just before the fall or Rome when they blamed christian for setting the capital on fire. They claimed christian were having sex with corpes. When in reality anyone who knew anthing about christianity would know that is not what a christian would do. With all the romanlike hedodism going on, If you think christians are everywhere controling your life, you better get some professional help.

in a recent post, an answerer stated that persons who rejected their former sinful lives and accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour had low self esteem

the exact quote is
"people with low self esteem are the ones where religion has a strong hold on... "

I am in no way critisizing this post. I am curious to know the opinions of non-believers in particular. Do you concur with this statement? Do you think that as a non-believer that you have high self esteem? Please explain your answers.

I am Wiccan.
Let me tell you, Christians, we are NOT evil, we do NOT hate God, and we do NOT worship Satan, or anything like that.
I mean, some of us Wiccans are not very nice, but that depends on the person. I know some pretty horrible Christians, too.
Is the reason most of you dislike us is because we are just not Christian?

I will try to keep this brief, but I wanted to post my testimony. This is in hope that someone will read it, see themselves and make a change.
Five years ago I was a wretch. I hated the world, and everyone in it. I was a con-man, an adulterer, a thief, a liar and worse. I slept with woman for money and coned them out of their money. I was a porn addict and I had gotten a married woman pregnant. The baby died of SIDS when she was but 5 months. I never even got to see her.
I lied for the fun of it, and when i had girlfriends I used them for everything I could and purposely tried to hurt them as bad as I could (emotionally). I even dated a woman and her daughter at the same time cause I knew when it came out it would ruin their family. Like I said, i was a horrible, evil wretch.
So what changed? One night after one of my "jobs" Jesus came to me. I didn't see Him, but He called to my heart. He told me of His love for me and let me know I could be more. I gave Him my heart and my soul.
