Jehovahs Witnesses Ski, Snowboard, have parties (no alcohol or immorality though) and some have traveled the world and on top of that, they are genuinely good people who care enough to teach people of all kinds about the bible and Jehovah and his son. What compels them?

Ya know Matthew 24:14 says that people would preach to All the inhabited earth for a means to an end. And they are the only ones who are always out teaching people about the bible. Not only that but they are able to prove EVERY singel thing they say with scientific and biblical evidence. They have my vote for the true religion

--OUR MOTIVATION is to do our best to please our God Jehovah and try sincerely to walk in the footsteps of Christ!

--BECAUSE of our imperfection like anyone else, we miss the mark , but we sincerely try not to compromise his example and we do not for the most part give up in trying!

--We find that Jehovah God is reasonable in what he expects of us, and knows our many limitations!

--AS AN ORGANIZATION we are imperfect but do maintain a vigil in following the Bible as closely as we can.
--WE DO NOT have confusing doctrines to make it difficult for any sincere ones to adhere to .
--ANY WHO wish to serve Jehovah do so on a personal basis with no one in the organization using any coercsing of any kind!

Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe the bible to condemn the moderate use of alcohol, where legal. Any Witness who chooses to refrain from alcohol likely does so for personal reasons unrelated to his religion.

(1 Timothy 5:23) Use a little wine for the sake of your stomach

Cults do that. It's called love-bombing. They also crowd dying cancer patients trying to be nice to them too, and take children off of parents trying to be nice.

I do agree with some of their doctrines, such as God being the One who causes to become. Let's have a look at parties though. 2 Peter 2:13 says that those who carouse in the daylight at love feasts which I think would have to do with arranging suitable marriage mates (compared with Isaiah 5, Matthew 24:38 and Revelation 18) are the biggest problem in the Christian community. God is love and romantic love is not a figment of the human ability to manage society so it looks "right." It all comes from God. Therefore, those who like to keep a peachy clean ability to hook people up are the problem if they are claiming to be Christian.

So what compels them? The prospect of more pleasure as in 2 Timothy 3:1-5, the same as the rest of the world?

Look at the mark of the beast in Revelation 13:18 in the blueletterbible.com version on line. It's the stigma of being unmarried (chi or agamos) and hardworking (xi or agathoergos). Therefore Jehovah's Witnesses substitute lots of activities for singles (same as a lot of other religions) so as to keep them interested. There is so much work to be done in the world and putting off God's healing work to a theoretical new system (on his behalf, no less!) is immoral.

I thank you for recognizing that about us and I know it pleases Jehovah God. Please do study with the Witnesses to fully learn about our loving Father, Jehovah, and his Son, Christ Jesus. Ignore the people who would otherwise try and deter you from studying, they do not have God's Holy Spirit, thus they have no understanding of the truth. May Jehovah bless all your efforts in obtaining accurate knowledge of our God and of the good news.

My ex-sister-in-law allowed her father to die alone because he quit being a Jehovahs Witness. He was a Christian still. That was not even close to being a genuinely good thing.

God bless.

Kind of funny how no one thinks it's the love of God and our neighbor that compels us to try to help others.

What compels anybody to do anything? I don't see anything even slightly remarkable about the lifestyle you describe. The preaching of the bible is merely annoying.

They believe that their salvation is based on their works so any time they do anything wrong, they are endangering their soul's eternal standing. So, I would say it's fear of not being good enough for their god.
