Is it true that the full and original name of Darwin's "Origin of Species" is " "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life"?

There is the story of the rich man who gave alot of money and the poor woman who gave everything she had which wasnt much. Jesus said that the poor woman gave more because she gave everything she had. Do you give everything you have? Good for you if you do. If you dont then why not? You could but you dont follow jesus' example. Maybe you have decided that jesus' example wasnt right and you shouldnt give everything.

"..Evolution is just an elaborate theory, plain and simple. The world takes it as truth when it is not.

Here is something for those who believe in Darwin inspired evolution -- explain the utter lack of transitional fossils. There have never been any found in the last 150 years of scientific research and fossils collected. Shouldn't there be just a ton of these, ever since animals evolved into something new?!! I guess it just happened over night, huh.

What is meant by transitional fossils, for those who aren't clear with the term, are fossils that are in transition from the old creature to the new, or the states of change from one thing to another.

Oh yeah, and what about dinosaur prints and human prints being found side by side in the rock strata. And what about Myan and other civilizations who have artwork containing images of people fighting off dinousaurs. Hmmmm??.."

BEST EXPLANATION EVER!
A man went to a barbershop to have his
hair cut and his beard trimmed.

As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.

They talked about so many things and various subjects.

When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:

"I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer. "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.

Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?

Would there be abandoned children?

If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.

I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the
street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber.

"I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."

"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

Some say that a spirit, soul, ghost, etc. is some kind of energy? If so is it positive or negatively charged? We hear about blessing a location to end whatever is taking place there like a haunting, etc. to send the spirits away. But sometimes a blessing does not work.

If the spirits do not want to go, why not flood the area with some kind of negative or positive ion charge? We all know what happens when we short our car battery...whap! and a spark. If the spirit is a type of energy, then meeting an opposite energy will cause something to happen. Flooding the area with a charge may be like an electric fence, or maybe the charge might send them into another realm?

Did God want to make men superior to women?

1. He created Eve for Adam's sake.
This is where men get their idea of 'Women are only good for one thing,' thing?
2. In the Bible there are countless stories of men with many wives: numerous normal wives, slave wives, etc.
Why isn't it the other way around, or why couldn't they just have one wife and be happy? (This part really cuts me down. It was okay from men to have many wives, but now women?)
3. Most of the people that God made extrodinary figures in history (e.g. Moses, Noah, Joseph) are men!
4. Jesus came to earth in the form of a man.
5. For centuries God has let men rule over women.
6. There are no women priests.
7. There has never been a pope that was a women.

Explain please! I've always tried to convince myself that God loves everybody just the same, yet these things are very disturbing.

Thank you in advance!

i can find passages that can approve of it just as easily as i can find passages that would lead us to believe it's heresy. and yes, i know that we should focus on salvation first. that's the most important thing to be stressed. i also know that we should love God with our whole heart, but what do the rest of you think?

Other people have supposed to have come back from the dead. Examples are in the Old Testament -Elijah bringing back from dead a widows son. And other religions with saviour gods coming back from the dead.
As far as I can see it Christianity is just another of these religions with people supposedly coming back from the dead.

In 1987 Ratzinger (The current Pope) released a letter that contained a lot of inflammatory rhetoric about homosexuals saying they are materalistic, self centered , with a inate (Built in) disposition to evil and are responsible for the violence and discrimination they have experienced and failed to say nothing about the people who have inflicted harm on them.. A few years ago the Vatican then under Pope John Paul II even spoke out against their civil rights to jobs, and housing. And in either letter he said NOTHING about the mistreatment they have suffered. He appears to have shown NO concern for them and in a another letter stated that those in relationships should not be treated with any respect both by the church and government. If he was truly understanding of them he would talk about them and even address their community in a way that shows concern, compassion and respect. So far it appears he has done none of t

Just read the first sentence: "in the begining god created the heavans and the earth." Thats absurd. The earth was created much later than the 'heavans', whatever that is supposed to mean. And as astronots prove every time they go up in space there is no guy sitting on a throne in 'heavan' where there are 'waters' flowing this way and that (comes later).

On the other hand, this part of the Bible is suprisingly consistent with primitive superstisons popular in that day.

One thing that Christians like to argue with me is on the nature of "Hell". The word "hell" is innacurately translated in the King James Version of the Bible because it is used to refer to three completely different places. The first is Sheol (Hades in the Greek) which is "the grave", the second is Tartarus which is a dungeon for fallen angels, and the third is Gehenna, a pit right outside Jerusalem which was used for dumping dead animals into. A fire had to constantly keep burning there to keep down the smell. Gehenna is the term that "Jesus" referred to people being thrown into after Judgment. I believe they will be burnt up in the flames:

Isaiah 66:24
"Then they will go forth and look On the corpses of the men Who have transgressed against Me. For their worm will not die And their fire will not be quenched; And they will be an abhorrence to all mankind."

Notice the fire and worm are there but the bodies of the people are corpses.

A while ago I lived in Argentina for a year, which was fantastic. Over there, Christians did a lot more spiritual warfare (that was the main difference between Argentina and the UK), support structures within churches seemed better - there was more accountability and personal discipleship going on (and also evangelism). Within the circles I was in, there was a lot of emphasis on discovering God's will, and obeying Him. Maybe they didn't understand God's grace as much as we do in the UK, but they did seem more in line with God on a lot of things.

I'd love to hear your experiences, because I think we can learn a lot from different cultures - we can change some of our own misconceptions about God etc.
